Holmes had a lot of puppy fat when he fought Mike, Spinks didn`t have a very defined body at all.

Douglas was vastly out of shape and sluggish, Ruiz was sharper v AJ than Douglas was v Holy.

OK, but he was never pressed, there was not a lot coming at him so he followed AJ around like a puppy, it was a no action fight...........and I bet his trainer knew that AJ would put om his track shoes in the rematch because everybody under the sun now knows that AJ is packing glass but Ruiz trained with food instead of mits , simple, he was not even remotely in the same shape like he was in the first, he wadded in mud all night, had no snap and zero agility, shots he ducked in the first he took flush in the second.

My problem is that the belts will be taken hostage on the island fighting no hopers and a unproven cruiser at Heavy feather fist.......fatsoPED whyte/Pulev/Rivas/Usyk.....yawn......if Ruiz would have pulled it off, it would Wilder/Ruiz......Wilder/Fury/Ruiz undisputed etc etc...IMO much more competitive or interesting fights.

Holmes would certainly get fatter 4 years later. And Spinks was never defined, even at Light Heavy.

Nobody took Tyson lightly, if that's what you're getting at?

Usyk is something special and Ruiz wasn`t slipping AJ`s jab very well.

Holmes admitted he only took the fight with Tyson for the money.

I agree. Tyson against Ruiz? That fight is an easy fight for Mike. Target practice. I don't think it goes out of round 2.

The only fighter Mike fought with Ruiz`s hand speed was Tubbs and the only world title opponents he fought with Ruiz`s power were Smith and Bruno, Ruiz is a mix of them three making him more dangerous to Mike than all three of those guys plus he`s a better inside fighter than any of Mike`s world title opponents except Holy.

I am not sold on Ruiz power yet. 22 knocks on 34 or so fights? He landed clean punches fast and that can hurt anyone. Speed is power but Joshua won the rematch and now can have other fights to see if this was as style matchup issue. I don't think Ruiz is in the Smith and Bruno level of power. I think Mike would destroy Andy. Easy fight. I have no doubt. On this one I am sure. Mike would have Andy in front of him going to the body and coming up to the head and it is just a case of how much can Andy take before he is stopped. I think he might go down with a body punch.

Every Tyson opponent was in far better shape than the last time Ruiz and several Tyson title opponents were better fighter than Parker who could beat Ruiz.
Otherwise i would imagine the Tyson haters' reaction if he fought a similar fat ,out of shape guy like this Ruiz for the title.
These can tantrum when Tubbs or Holmes fought with max.4-5 plus pounds. We can see similar double standard in the fighters' age.
The Tyson haters scream like a ****** because Tyson had ONLY ONE old (38 years old Holmes) title opponent but i think
they can't see problem in Holyfield's case considering he fought two 42 years old and eyes stingily overweight fighters like
Holmes or Foreman. Seemingly Joshua is okay also when he beat old or incredible fat opponents.
All in all these Tyson topics have zero meaning here.

Maybe he didn't want to be dictated to?
