Ruiz vs Joshua 2 Early Predictions

The intelligent bet has to be on Anthony Joshua via a UD by around 4-6 points. Something like 116-112 to around 118-110.

It is in a neutral venue and AJs own analysis of the first loss is that if he had just boxed it off, then he would have easily won a UD. I cannot disagree with that at all.

He needs to be aware that Ruiz Jr can bang and is a front foot counter puncher, so getting greedy and going for the KO is a big mistake. If he does that again he gets knocked down again but not knocked out, and possibly loses on the cards. This fight will be determined by AJs preparation and mindset as much as it is by Ruiz Jrs.

Most heavyweight fights where a rematch takes place following a big upset usually go the way the first one was expected to go. Whilst this is never an exact science a fighter bigger, better and more able to find an obvious way to win usually will win.

 

Sadly, I can see this going the same way but ending earlier.

I think Josh has done the right thing in retaining RM but, I believe he has lost that desire in wanting to have a "Fight", something that this will be turned in to and very early on.

Not hating on Joshua as I like the guy, but ever since WK he has been extremely cautious because he knows deep down the vulnerabilities he has.

As Michael Gomez said of Amir Khan, he is a world class fighter with world class vulnerabilities, I believe the same of Joshua.
Really hope he can do it, I just cant see it.

Don’t believe the rubbish going around that he hasn’t got the fight for the rematch. After such a big loss and against all the doubters, he ll be pumped beyond belief. Obviously he ll also be more tactically aware - his jab will be key to keeping Ruiz at bay, but given half a chance raw emotion will take over.

AJ by KO round 4 or before.

 

If I had to bet my life on it I’d say AJ wins. It’s Ruiz’s fight to lose though. Whatever happens I really think now we will see a trilogy fight. I think both Wilder-Fury and this one will end in a trilogy.

 

Good point. What happens if Ruiz jumps on him from the start? It's a great tactic actually. Undoubtedly AJ is coming in to fight safe and grind out a UD. If Ruiz comes out swinging, AJ ain't slick enough to avoid the action.
