I'd like to see this. Don't know that it would be a barnburner fight, but two top 5-6 guys going at it and easy as pie to make. Ruiz/Whyte isn't worth the trouble.
Stylistically this should be a war. But something tells me Ortiz would actually fight Ruiz cautiously
They're biased then. He's old but so was Povetkin. Luis Ortiz has a decent win over Byrant Jennings so he's a solid top 10-15 fighter and would be a boost for anybodys resume.
This will slowly be built up early next year. When Ruiz balloons up to 310lbs again, and grandpa Ortiz comes out of hospital, from a heart operation. 65 dollar PPV i heard.
Pointless Ruiz another lower level opponent like Ortiz. I'd much rather see Ruiz fight one of top guys such as Whyte. I can't see Haymon allowing it. Haymon wont allow Wilder anyhwere newr Ruiz either.
Step down? Currently, Luis Ortiz is rated higher than Ruiz by RING, the WBC, the WBA and the IBF. How would fighting someone rated higher than him in nearly all the ratings be a step down, exactly? People need to check their biases at the door. It's getting ridiculous. Ortiz-Ruiz would be excellent.
Man, Ruiz just fought shot to **** Arreola who was coming off of a loss to club fighter Kownacki and some morons seriously claim fighting Ortiz would be a step down for him. It’s probably just some of the AJ fans who are butthurt with what they saw from their hero’s conquerer against a walking corpse last night.
Is Oscar Rivas a solid top 10-15 fighter as well? Jennings was a decent yardstick about five years ago, but Ortiz hasn't done anything remotely as impressive since.
No way does Haymon risk Ruiz vs King Kong Ortiz, when Wilder vs Ruiz will generate so much more PPV revenue. it all depends what happens with AJ vs Fury fight, wether it falls through or comes to fruition. if it falls through sadly we will get Fury vs Wilder 3.
