Reasons why they weren't initially looking for Ruiz.

Ruiz on the west coast .

Ruiz had just fought and was inactive up until recently.

Ruiz isn't part of Hearn/ Dazn ...Miller is which makes a replacement easier.

Those are the 3 reasons he wasn't offered the fight.

Joshua wasn't fighting on the back foot against Whyte he got caught coming in. Joshua will eat Ruiz up when he comes in by either making him.hit a brick wall and trading punches or dodging out of range , Joshua is capable of showing great counter punching abilities at any direction.

AJ by round 6. This could go longer if Ruiz fights in defense more giving Joshua takes less risks against short fighters.

I give him a better chance than I gave Miller.
Ruiz is a better boxer than Miller, and faster.
It's still a very slim chance.
If he pulled it off it would be a monumental upset, one of historical magnitude, especially considering the physical appearances of the two of them.

Ruiz has zero chance, this will be embarrassingly one sided

I give less than 5% only because of one thing , it's got nothing to do with Ruiz . It's AJ's debut and the chance to show the US what he is about . I think 1st June AJ would smash any boxer on that night . AJ has said very little , only that whoever goes against him is gonna lose . This tells me he is going on destruction duty 1st June and woe to anyone gloved up .

If Ruiz were 6-5 it would be an interesting fight, and if the queen had balls she'd be the king.

As it is, he's too short and too fat. It will be another non-competitive match while the top three's management continue to milk their fighters at everyone's expense, likely including their own. I don't foresee Wilder staying undefeated much longer, and Fury always is a risk for slippage of one sort or another. So you'll have AJ potentially never facing his Nos. 2 or 3. However you want to assign blame, the division is ****ed. This should have been a huge year for HW.

Ruiz is a HW shorty who is a level below Povetkin. So i expect Joshua to finish him off quicker. KO by round 4.

Yes Ruiz has fast hands. But his stubby little arms are too short to make that count against Joshua.

As they say up here - nae chance

It's a Joshua win obviously. How is another matter. If it's a cautious AJ against a defensive Ruiz, it might go the distance. I hope we get an ambitious Ruiz, if we do then it's an AJ ko/tko.

Outside of Fury, Wilder and possibly Usyk, we can't see Joshua being tested. So no one is going to be happy with who he faces. Ruiz Jr is as good as anybody.

Povetkin still has quality and Joshua losing rounds against him is no shame. He's still learning.

    Ruiz Jr is no Povetkin.

I’m not sure that Povetkin 2018 was on a higher level than Ruiz is right now. Povetkin was dropped by David Price in the fight before Joshua hadn’t had a decent win since 2015. Ruiz just destroyed Dimitrenko.

It's not looking good for Ruiz.
