This is the next fight card taking place in Boston, on March 22nd.

    Heading up the bill:
    • Joe Farina vs. Casey James Kramlich Streeter II for the New England super welterweight title.
    • Nicholas Molina vs. Joshua Michael Orta for the vacant Massachusetts state lightweight title.
    • Cassius Chaney vs. Junior Anthony Wright, special 10 round heavyweight attraction.
...plus a tiny (5′9½″) thirty-eight year old Venezuelan southpaw and once-upon-a-time welterweight, Heber Alexander Rondón Gámez, being fed to a 6'3" undefeated twenty-seven year old Irish super heavyweight southpaw, Thomas O'Toole. And some local dreck.

Honestly that upper end of the card isn't bad. Nothing stupendous, mind you, and would be considered a pretty mid DAZN card - but compared to most of the rubbish we usually get around here, it's quite alright. It would almost tempt me to check out my first live show in seven years (since Walter Kautondokwa ignored my earnest pleas for him to knock Demetrius Andrade out cold :sisi1) and bring @LilButt along...

But oh man, the sticker shock. The cheap seats (general admission) are over $80 a pop. I know ticket prices across the board - for concerts, stand-up comedy, what have you - are ridiculous nowadays, but come on. This is a non-televised card without a single name that any casual outside the northeast has ever heard of. :shakehead:

$80 ($160) if you purchase two shitty seat tickets is a tough sticker price to swallow for a card like this.

    Ridiculous.

They say that the UFC is now a rich mans sport, but at these prices the same can be said about boxing.

Following sports legally is becoming way too elitist. I was just informed that I have to pay about $200 a month to watch the goddamn Orioles games now because my cable provider has moved the Orioles network to the premium only cable package.

Man, I am so lucky at the moment. Due to my geographical location, I struggled to gain access to fights the legal way. I would have gladly paid for a Pacquiao or Mayweather PPV, but simply could not. Now I have all of the access I need, and for a very low price.
But I wager that in due time this will change.
