Who wants to test themselves against the very best ESB has to offer? Surely the great nation of Australia, which contributes a great deal to the world of boxing on many levels, has a few individuals who can remain competitive in the most challenging and intense boxing prediction league on the planet, no?
    :good

The new 2012 Season of Rummy's Challenge is kicking off NOW, where we have weekly, monthly, and yearly competitions in which we track a a tremendous amount of useless data so you have multiple ways of comparing how you stack about against the Best ESB has to offer.

    The scoring system is simple.

Just go to the thread and make your picks on these fights for the opening week:
    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=11706601&postcount=22574

The basic scoring rules are listed at the bottom of the post. There are also additional rules for bonus points, and I will happily address any questions anyone has regarding scoring and league play.

JOIN UP AND SEE HOW GOOD YOUR PREDICTIONS REALLY ARE!

Here is a chart for the 2011 Year End standings:

    ----------------------------------
    RULES AND SCORING
    ----------------------------------
The Basic Scoring System will work as Follows:

8 points for correctly picking the winner
-5 points for picking the loser
(***Draws can be picked. Correct picks = +35, incorrect = -5)

If you properly pick DEC or KO/TKO you got an extra 2 points. (Bringing you to 10)

If you properly specify the type of decision (with SD, UD, MD, or TD) you got an extra 2.(Bringing you to 12--the maximum point total for picking a proper decision).

If you got the right round on a KO/TKO you got an extra 5 points (meaning 15 was the maximum you can get for picking the round of stoppage--there was no distinction between KO or TKO).

If anyone has any questions about the scoring system, feel free to ask. Oh, and also note, at random points throughout the year, I reserve the right to appoint certain fights as MEGA BOUTS. In such instances, the aforementioned point totals are doubled, across the board.

I can predict boxing outcomes reasonably well, until I put money on it. With those averages, Boxing Girl could make quite a good living.

Will you be joining our competition in 2012, DBerry?

If you follow the sport reasonably well and enjoy some intense yet laid back competition, the regular participants seem to have fun and enjoy themselves.

Hope to see you (and some other regular Aussie posters) give it a shot!

I may be a starter, I don't like to commit though, as I don't know what I'm doing from one week to the next. I committed to a boxing training simulation game on another site and then spent a quarter of the year interstate or oversees. but I'll give it a go.

    Cool!

    :cheers

No pressure, although some do find it addicting after a few weeks.

    Best of luck!

Who cares? If you follow boxing and have fun trying, you'll still find the league enjoyable.
