Are you one of the few who can call a fight beforehand or one of the many who comment on the obvious after the fact?

If fights go exactly like you said they would, check out Rummy's Challenge, a boxing prediction league as deep as any. It's located in The Lounge, for those who don't frequent The Lounge. There are some heavy-hitters who participate regularly. The competition is as steep as it gets.

There is a winner each week, a top ten of each month, and a running total of the whole year. Starting in 2011, just a few weeks away, the slate will be wiped clean and everybody is at zero.

If you'd like to come express your thoughts and outcomes of fights before they happen, as opposed to afterwards, we'd love to see you there (not that they don't get discussed afterwards too, it just doesn't count for **** by then). And no reason to wait until next year, now's as good as ever.

Points are awarded for each pick made, which there is no shortage of. The rules are under the current standings. Hope to see some of you there.

JOIN UP NOW! NEW SEASON STARTING SOON!!!!

You're not the only one. But it's not too many fights, if you like to pick fights. It could be a lot of fights if you are the one that has to keep track of the standings, but we've got that covered. You just have to make the picks. And if they are fighters that you've never seen, then they become new fighters that you now know about. It also gives you reason to be interested in fights you might not have cared about otherwise.

There are many video clips of the majority of fighters. But Boxrec alone has many, many indicators. Where the fight is taking place, where each fighter has fought before, the weights they've fought at, whether or not their wins were by decision or KO, their age, weight, height, stance....too many to name. Besides, I don't want to give up too much. You gotta be creative, know what to look for. But the bigger your depth of boxing knowledge, the less you have to rely on boxrec or video anyway.

Now quit trying to talk people out of it.

Hmmm...bragging rights I guess. That, and you get to feel all warm and fuzzy inside. But you'd have to win to worry about that anyway, and like I said, the competition is steep. Many dropout when they realize they can't predict fights as well as they thought they could.

You should start this week, and see if you can win one of the last few weeks before the year's end. We've had a couple newcomers recently come in and make quite a splash.

We get a lot that, believe me. Doesn't hurt to try though. It's not like trying to swallow a cue ball that's 1/16" too big to swallow or anything.

In the Lounge? Eh, I'm already in Kirk's prediction in league and I like that. I don't know I may try this one in the lounge.

Then you are familiar with BoppaZoo?

Nothing wrong with Kirk's, but it certainly doesn't compare. No disrespect intended, just saying.

I'd say we pick about as many fights in a week as Kirk's does in a month. I could be wrong. I think the scoring systems are also quite different, not sure on that one. But Rummy's is straightforward and flawless.

    Oh ****....busted.

Yours is fine, but it contains significantly less fights, does it not? I also believe your scoring system uses a record format, whereas Rummy's uses more of a points system (W-L records too, but not in the same way). Correct me if I'm wrong.
