I think the main differences is the point structure, and you guys pick on a weekly basis and yep, def do more fights. :good

Two very different leagues, and they should be kept that way.

But in all fairness, Rummy has a small team working for him.

Yes, I'd say that's why they don't compare. I didn't mean to say his shits all over yours or anything like that. Each league just suits different people's interests. You're right, it should absolutely be kept that way, for that reason.

One other thing, I am not aware of any rule or obligation of loyalty stating that you can't participate in both leagues. This thread is geared for those who are unaware of either, rather than those who participate in yours.

Being in power around here has its perks.

Mine was around for almost two years before his, yet because of his position around here, his gets stickied, while people from mine have requested time and time again for ours to be, but are met with silence. :deal

However, I have liked Rummy a long time, and I kinda think of his league as the Lounge league and mine as the General League. I like that there is a second option for people if they arent happy with whichever one, or people can do both. They are two very different leagues in all honesty.

And in truth, with the small little community that mine has gotten, I couldnt be happier. I probably would have quit doing it by now if it wasnt for them (because it really is quite time consuming). Great group of regulars that has been established and they are what keep me coming back. They know who they are. And I would pit their boxing knowledge against anyones and feel confident.

I joined early this year. It's a fun league and a good way of comparing your boxing knowledge with lots of other fans, and I realized I wasn't quite as bad as I thought I was. Every meaningful fight is covered and lots more besides.

But seriously, stay the **** out of the rest of the lounge if you want to remain sane.

Kirk's league is great too, join that while you're at it. There are some differences so try both of them out and stick with the one you find best if you don't want to carry on with both.

You don't have to pick on all the fights. Honestly, there are a lot of fighters I'm not particularly familiar with. Boxrec helps, so does finding some Youtube clips of the fighters. And if all else fails you can just not make a prediction although it's probably worth just picking the favourite if you want to be near the top.

One thing the challenge has done is it's made me watch more boxing than ever, even fights or boxers I wouldn't otherwise have cared about.

I'll have a look at both, called all but Litzau last week, that'd been a not bad start for me.

I tried Liverpuncher last year and made the Top 10 in my first season so I'd like to think I won't make an arse of myself, I think I'll have a look at both league's, their rules, formats, the competition and start in the new year ....... that'll give me time to do a little homework. :bbb

I found the league a good way of keeping track of fights I wouldn't normally have an interest in - it definitely helped my knowledge!

    Good thread, would read again
