Thanks Robney! And yeah, this really is a tricky one to pick. Definitely fired-up to see how it unfolds in just over a month (barring any unforeseen obstacles).

As for the pronunciation, I had been told that's how it's pronounced, and I swear that's close to the way I've heard Buffer pronounce it. Although, a fair number of people continue to criticize my pronunciation here.

I've also heard it should be Pov-yet-kin and also Pow-e-yet-kin.

I've heard announcers say Poe-vet-kin, yet I remain convinced that is incorrect.

That's the way I heard Russian announcers say it.

Personally, I thought Povetkin was better in the early going. I thought his his body punching was undervalued. He kept beating Whyte there. Regardless, I think Whyte is really going to try and stick behind that jab in the rematch. Povetkin needs a steady dose of his own jab and overhand rights to break him of it. No matter the result, Povetkin has shown admirable skill and staying power. The man has been ranked in the top-10 every year but one since, 2006 or 07.

Well, at the time it seemed true to me. Obviously looking back now, my dumb 9 year old self never really picked up on the lack of defense in Rocky III.

But yeah, Hagler-Hearns didn't seem far removed in my young mind.

    Yeah, I got that.
But for me it showed the greatness of your experience in hindsight... That you see a Rocky movie as a child, expect a slugfest of epic proportions in a real life boxing match, and then actually getting one of the greatest in history with Hagler vs Hearns.
For almost every comparable situation that would end quite differently.
It made a sad video still quite entertaining for me Rums

Nice touch that Hearns was the first to announce on social media that Hagler was gravely ill, Leonard has been silent on Hagler`s death though.

‘The Motor City Cobra’ was one of the greatest boxers in the rich history of boxing. He has won major world titles at welterweight, junior middleweight, light heavyweight, and middleweight. He also won the WBO title at super middleweight and also the less prestigious IBO belt in cruiserweight. Hearns became the first boxer in history to win major world titles in four different weight classes on October 29, 1987, when he defeated Juan Domingo Roldan by 4th round technical knockout to earn the vacant WBC middleweight belt.
