    truth is this fight was extremely hard to predict. i made a thread saying floyd will win because everything was in his favor. in any case, i was right:lol: i too thought pac had a chance to upset him based on his intangibles, hand speed, volume, foot speed.:smoke never in a hundred years i thought pac would box him.(how roach let him do this is mind boggling:nut) this unfortunately led to his downfall:good

    Well, the thing is, even all these years later, the unknown is still what made it such an intriguing match up for so many. Even if Pac didn't score the upset, I was anticipating he'd be a good deal more competitive, and I thought his feet were definitely fast enough to cause Floyd trouble throughout.

    His strategy was indeed odd, and I thought Roach dropped the ball in the corner. Maybe Roach giving good advice and having a sense of urgency wouldn't have changed anything. But at least when Floyd whopped Mosley, Naazim was saying all of the right things, he was saying them the right way, and he was saying them at the proper time with a due sense of urgency. Roach did none of this, which I thought was disappointing.

    But anyways, nothing against Joe, IMO it's very arguable that he's been surpassed. Brady is just a more sound qb.

    Brady should have 5-6 right now, but you know how it is.

    pac boxed floyd since he claims he was injured and roach did not force him. hard to accept that when you're against the guy but it's still a fact. very poor performance from both sides.

    I was more disappointed in Pac's performance than Floyd's, but I guess my expectations for Pac were too high and Floyd did far better than I suspected he would following his unimpressive showings against Maidana.

    Great vid. I thought Pac backed away because he wasn't really landing anything meaningful and didn't want to punch himself out. Looking back at Mayweather fights, stamina is a huge part of his strategy. If you look at Hatton round 8 for example, Floyd senses Hatton is slowing and goes on a tear. He could've done it earlier but knew it would be more effective when Hatton tired. Floyd rested the next round my moving for most of it. Similar action in the 8th of Guerrero. In the Moseley fight, Nasseem mentioned stamina was Mayweather's real gift. And even in the De La Hoya fight they discussed letting Oscar get tired in the corner.

    Roach may have picked up on this and told Manny to watch his punch output.

    Nice vid.

    I wasn't impressed with either of them to be honest. Pacquiao looked terrible and Mayweather looked far from unbeatable.

    I always thought that Pacquiao could not afford to be behind at any point so agreed with the original video that he needed to get off to a fast start and I had him losing the first 3 rounds and never got back into it.

    Good points, but Pac's stamina was something that was supposedly going to help him against Floyd, so him backing off, I don't know. De La Hoya was always known for slowing down later in fights, Hatton was physically too small and lacked talent, and Guerrero was never a world beater. One of the things that was supposed to make Pac stand out from the rest of Floyd's opponents was his stamina, speed, and volume, none of which were on display.

    He was definitely tentative IMO.
