Flyweights! I was already starting to develop withdrawal symptoms, with 2 weeks without the "top 10 by decade" vids.
Yeah. I definitely lost a little momentum, but the more weight classes you do, the more data there is to cover. I should get the last 2 weight classes done in a week or so. The Grand Finale Top 100 will take at least a week after that. And then the final summary may take an extra week after that. But the finish line is getting closer. Slowly but surely, ever closer. We're marching.
Really enjoyed the video. And 108. I somehow haven't seen any of these? But you should have an extra 14 likes from me across here. Great job, man! Giant Pong fan. I'll forever feel more rationalized for my very high ranking of him among Flyweights!
Thank you, appreciate that. Yeah, Pong's point total is really solid. Not many guys scored over 100 total within a single weight class. I'm hoping to have the top 100 done within a week or 2. Hoping sooner rather than later, as I'm genuinely curious to see the final tallies. Not that I think this system is perfect by any means, but I think the results are very interesting nonetheless.
Weird result for Melchor Castro, who according to the scoring wasn't ever rated better as the #4 LFW, but is the second most dominant LFW per decade
Yeah. In this case, we only had one full decade and 2 incomplete data sets - but still, it's funny how things like that can play out. For what it's worth, I've finally collected all of the necessary data for the Top 100 Grand Finale, and I've sorted it alphabetically through "E", or Ezzard Charles. Hoping less than 10 days before I finish that.
It's obvious fighters with long careers at the top, even if they were never actually the best in their weightclass(es), score the highest. But most of the real talents still shine trough here. Not surprised that Hopkins took the lead with his like 74 year boxing career, with Archie coming in 2nd with his very long toplevel career. And I think a lot of the oldtimer guys will eventually be removed from the list with careers usually spanning longer now, if you would use the same method 5 to 10 years from now. Also, the 80's 90's and 00's ped infestation, probably had some influence on the longlivity of some of these careers. as for instance the high rank of Sugar Shane highlights. All in all a very good job Rummy!
