Did I really give him that much credit? He's better than I thought he was, or he would have been beaten by Stiverne before the midway point. But as I said, I give him virtually no chance against Wlad, but with his power and athleticism, I wouldn't be quick to write him off against guys like Povetkin, whom I've never thought was particularly impressive. NOT saying Povetkin can't beat him. He may, and may even do so spectacularly. Just saying I wouldn't be quick to write him off.

 

40% seems in the right ballpark.

The Morrison and Briggs ****ogies are something I can see. But I think of him more as a poor man's Michael Grant (in terms of skills) who has more power and greater athleticism.

I definitely agree that he lacks the upper tier magnitude fights needed to require the experience that would be immensely beneficial for some of his potentially upcoming big fights. I really do believe his team has done him a disservice on that front.

How many guys have you picked to KO Wilder thus far who have failed to come through?

For me, the answer is 2 - Liakhovich and Stiverne. I thought both would KO him early, especially Stiverne.

Yep, it definitely appeared to me that he knew he had a real chance to get to Wilder's chin. I thought he did a great job biding his time, looking for opportunities, and landing a few big shots here and there which did rock Deontay. He was also doing a good job avoiding a lot of Wilder's power punches at various points. Predictably he fell short, but he didn't fall victim to an early spectacular KO, which would have happened I think had he not mentally believed Wilder was a man he could KO provided with the right opening.

 

I'm just slow.

I usually lag a day or 2 behind updating that one.
