Thanks Robney. And I pretty much agree with everything you said above, and I don't think Barrera would have made it long with Kovalev, either. But I don't think that necessarily says anything about what will happen between Ward and Kovalev, though. Interesting. I actually think this would be a pretty bad match-up for Beterbiev. So I think Beterbiev tends to be overrated on the whole, and I think Ward is someone who would be able to best exploit many of his glaring weaknesses. I would definitely place him in the top 2 myself, but respect your opinion. :good
I priciple it wouldn't, triangle comparisons certainly don't always hold up. The way I see it is that Beterbiev is an immensly powerful twohanded mauler, that can chance direction in a split second when his opponent does so too. He hits you everywhere and we've seen what he does when you try to clinch him. If there was a even smallish (210-225) HW version of him I would clearly favor him over 2006-2012 Wlad as well, just because I can't see a way for him to deal with someone like that. I can certainly respect your opinion too. Beterbiev has only beaten hasbeens and artificial former beltholders thus far, so if you place Ward at 2 then that's totally fair. :yep
No....Beterbiev gets decapitated by Wlad, Friday The 13th Part 8 Jason Takes Manhattan style. He's knocked clean off.:deal
I thought Ward would win (more along the 117-111, 116-112 range), but I figured Barrera would provide more of challenge. Ward could possibly shut Kovalev down, but I don't think things will be easy for him - even if he's firing on all cylinders. And while I don't view Kovalev as being especially fast, Kovalev is very good at being where he needs to be when he needs to be there. Of course, Ward is better overall at positioning, and has better footwork, faster feet, and better upper body movement. But Kovalev, for his specific style, is extremely efficient at finding range and maintaining proper punching distance. :rofl:good Agreed with your last point. But I will also say that I personally not only give Kovalev a great chance - I actually still favor him against Ward at present. Thanks for watching and for the feedback! :thumbsup
What are you laughing at re****? You said Bryant Jennings was going to beat Wlad and Amir Imam is the next big thing.:rofl:rofl
Ward/Kkkov is contracted for Nov 19th. Ward won't have a tuneup unless he takes much less than he usually makes.
