It won't happen. There was talk about this fight before for the vacate ibf ww championship but Berto didn't have confidents in beating Clottey so Berto went after for the wbc championship vs a bum fighter. I don't like that Berto cry when he beat that bum fighter to win a paper belt. You don't see Williams cry when he beat Margarito.

 

just read that Quintana is still the frontrunner for the Clottey fight if Williams will agree to fight Sergio Martinez at a possible catchweight of 157.

Quintana didn't pull out...His promoter is lou Dibella.

It's Clottey that isn't being considered any longer because he is a top rank guy. Now that Top rank isn't going to be involved, lou Dibella might get the opportunity with Sergio Martinez and Carlos Quintana. We'll wait and see!!

 

This wasn't a cancellation per se. The fight was tied up with Williams-Pavlik, so when that disintegrated so did this.

 

I'm thinking why not Berto vs Quintana since both are with Lou?

 

Possibly on a separate fight card...but not on the Williams fight card.

 

To hell with Berto!! Give us Williams/Martinez and Quintana/Clottey on Dec 5th!
