Rumor: Clottey In Negotiations With Berto After Pw-Pavlik Fallout...

I'll bet next year there will not be as many pull-outs & cancellations as there has been this year!

 

Williams vs Dzin was close to happening on hbo but Pavlik came up and that fight look like it will happen but got cancel twice thanks to Pavlik injury. Look if you think about it, between those 3 fighters, Williams, Mosley, Berto , Williams deserve that date cause he hasn't fought since last april and his fight with Pavlik was cancel twice. Mosley hasn't fought since last jan but thats his fault cause he was a chicken sh$t for not wanting to fight Williams. If Mosley have the guts to fight Williams, that fight would have happen last summer. Berto after barely got by Collazo, fought 1 dimensional junior ww Urango. So again out of those 3 fighters, Williams deserve that date.

Put it this way. Since Williams has been proving he'll fight anybody that put infront of him, he deserve that date of dec 5th while Mosley doesn't since Mosley was scared to fight Williams.

 

The date only belonged to PTP because his original date with Pavlik got postponed. I understood and supported HBO's decision to bump Mosley, Berto, or essentially anyone else in favor of Pavlik-PTP because of the magnitude of that fight.

I however don't support the postponement of a Berto vs (a quality opponent) or Mosley vs (a quality opponent) in favor of PTP vs Martinez or Sergie matchup. Those proposed PTP matchups, imo, are just not deserving of HBO's remaining budget.

Not to say that PTP-Martinez isn't a quality fight because I certainly would like to see it but not in favor of the before mentioned fighters and bouts.
