Can’t blame GGG for taking it, he deserves the payday. He’s been inactive for two years, living the good life so I don’t really think he has a chance. He didn’t look good in his last fight against canelo, and given the history between them you can guarantee that he was in the best shape that he was capable of getting himself into back then, because he really wanted to win that fight. He will last the distance but lose wide on the cards.
He fought Canelo 3 times and got a sweet DAZN deal. At this point, whatever he was owed, he has been paid and then some.
A proper GGG would need to go in against Crawford, not the one that cruised to a close defeat in the trilogy fight. The version i would like to see go against Crawford is from back in the Abel Sanchez days. Imagine what the GGG from the Martirosyan fight or the Brook fight would be like going against Crawford.
Bro, just watched both fights and GGG won them both clearly. The story of the fight should have been GGG'S championship heart, skills and conditioning as well as Canelo's tactical improvements in the 2nd fight, but still came up short.
This is the silliness of idiots with the internet. How is this rumor, Crawford's fault...... There's nothing to defend here. Crawford is on vacation with family right now. He's not actively in any negotiations. He's not gunning for GGG nor has he suggested that he desires to share the ring with him. His own camp (BoMac & Red Spikes) have came out and said they first heard this when we heard about it. So if they aren't involved, I'm not sure why this is even a subject we are discussing. Crawford said repeatedly who he wants. He talked about other options until he gets it or if he doesn't. There's no way there should be extensive conversations about GGG, Teofimo, Spence, etc.... in regards to a Crawford fight. They aren't fights he's looking for.
Considering Crawfords getting old, his resume and considering Turki wants him and Canelo it wasn't far fetched for a GGG fight to take place. Good thing this crap isn't real
Everyone is getting old. I'm not sure why everyone is so stuck on that with Crawford. They've been calling him old for 5 years now. It's weird. People act like there aren't multiple examples of greats who fought and won big beyond the age of 35. I'm a fan of GGG but honestly. I felt like his career should have been done even before the 3rd bout vs Canelo.
I thought a draw was reasonable in the first fight as I myself scored it a draw. But! I will admit that if the third judge were anyone besides Byrd, it would have likely been a Golovkin W. I don´t see how that Canelo won more than 0 rounds that night and I myself could easily find a close round that could swing to Golovkin. In the rematch Canelo earned that 115-113 but that too could have swung the other way. But this time it was far more competitive.
