If the fight is taking place in Mexico I would have no doubt Mayorga would get paid a lot to take a dive.

Canelo mid round stoppage. Probably a KO.

So i dont get called a fanboy let me break it down for you guys.

After watching the Cotto-Mayorga fight i saw a man who was a shadow of himself. And that shadow was never really great just good and that was at 147.
His awkwardness is the main thing here but when he is old past it that awkward style that requires strength and speed to work is plain useless. Everytime Mayorga would throw those wide lopping punches that at times looked like slaps i was waiting for Cotto to throw something meaningful through the middle but he never did. I guess he has never had a strong right hand so it kind of makes sense.
Also Mayorgas chin is pretty far gone. Also i think his heart is not in it anymore. He blatanly quit in the Cotto fight. Dude is just broke and needs the paycheck so let him fight Canelo and make a decent purse in which King will take 90% of it.

I see it starting fast since Canelo is green and loves to trade. The only trouble i see for him is in the 1st round. Where Mayorga will use machismo and it will work against Canelo. They will trade to get each others respect but at the same time Mayorga will be reluctant to go all out. He knows trading with a big LMW like Canelo will end his night sooner. If he lands a big shot though expect him to go all out to finish. Very well could but i doubt it.
After the 1st round Canelo will have gotten Mayorgas respect and will systematically break him down to a mid round stoppage. I have a feeling it will be Baldomir like stoppage too. I expect Mayorga to get stunned then finished with a great straight right or left hook. Also another Mayorga quittage is not out of the question.
Mayorga is no Hatton or Ndou. Some here talk about a KO being stupid or a "new" boxing fan but if you knew anything you would know Ndou is tough as hell and Hatton well he proved to be tough but mostly negative in the fight. His crab like defense along with the way he would turn his body to give Canelo basically no angles allowed him to go the distance. The reason Canelo got hit as much as he did in that fight was because he saw thats the only time he had a shot to KO Hatton in the middle of a sequence so he engaged seeing Hatton could not hurt him just looking for openings.

Mexico is actually a pretty solid place for fair fights. Alot more fair than anywhere else i can think of actually.
This is the place that booed JCC JR. after he got that close decision against Vanda and started throwing beer bottles into the ring because they thought Vanda won. Yea and that was one of theirs.

WE call it like we see it.

I hope this fight happens in which this will be a huge test for Alvarez. Sure Mayorga is way past his prime but at the same time he has shown he still have some left in the tank in which he show vs Mosley and Cotto. For those that say Alvarez will ko Mayorga just like that needs to remember Alvarez couldn't stop both Ndou and Hatton who both ain't close to Mayorga level by any means.

Exactly They are nothing like Mayorga. Obviously they never reached that level of popularity but its because they are not offensive fighters.
Ndou is a very tough guy who is not all that easy to hit.
Hatton was nearly impossible to hit.

Mayorga will bet there to be hit. Of course Mayorgas career is better but style wise Mayorga is better for Canelo than 2 defensive negative fighters. Come on dude you know that.

Pacquiao couldnt stop Clottey so does that make him a better fighter than Cotto? No its just that style wise it wasnt meant to be.

Mayorga is done, Saul will stop him.

    Retire Mayorga, damn.

But I suppose this will be a nice payday.

    Mayorga fights everyone.

I would like this fight if Alvarez hadn't already feasted on other faded fighters like Baldomir. Sure he would learn a good deal but now he is a 'world' champion he should be past the learning stage and going into true tests against other ranked fighters or other belt holders

Ndou not being on Mayorgas level has nothing to do with how much punishment he can or cant take. Ndou is one of the most durable fighters in the sport..... Saul going the distance with him doesnt mean anything.

Mayorgas back is done, Mayorgas legs are done, his chin has deteriorated, he is old, his workrate is down, his stamina isnt what it was, hes simply shot..... after a few rounds, he will be getting hit flush by Canelo on a constant basis, and it will ground him down.

I will actually be surprised if Mayorga doesnt get stopped by Canelo, by either ref stoppage, corner stoppage, or by him conceding defeat. And thats no shame against Mayorga, its just an indicator of where hes at, imo, at this point.
