rumor: Rigondeaux vs Donaire by end of year

Come on man. He has a valid point.

Sometimes a business relationship needs a shock to make one party take note of what they might lose. Arum could salvage the relationship. He salvaged the relationship with Pac. With Pac at the end of his career I am sure Arum realized what he was possibly going to lose. The Filipino market is not something to just throw away.

The fight will sell, but WHO is selling it? Rigo? No. From Arum's and the fans' perspective Rigo is going to be there to LOSE. You just can't get the numbers with a Black guy who only speaks Spanish. Rigo has almost no upside in this fight other than the hard core boxing fan.

I give Rigondeaux a good chance against anyone at 122 lbs, and I know he only have 8 fights, but dam that laser of a left hand to the liver is priceless and the right hook to the chin is awesome.

 

Ha wow after reading an article today i knew Arum was going to get one of his top guys to fight Donaire so they can possibly take him down. I thought he would be fed to either Gamboa, Lopez or Rigondeux.

I was right and yea it makes sense. Apparently Donaire is going to finish out this year for Arum but he is definitely jumping ship. Arum insulted him and im sure he isnt gonna let that go.

This is going to be an awesome fight and I think Rigo would take him.
Rigo does everything a little better than Donaire. It would probably be boring to the casual fan but this is a technicians wet dream.

 

Don't know about that... Donaire has the desire to mix it up to go along with the technical savvy.. It could end up being a good scrap.

 

Yes he does. However Rigo is a hell of a counter puncher and he does have good power. Hell we havent even seen Donaire at 122 or how he will react to punches there.
When Donaire goes in there to try to mix it up I can guarantee you he will get him with something hard and who knows if he will keep trying to mix it up after that. I would think he takes a more technical approach after that and loses a UD.

 

Could be.. I sure as well would be interested in seeing that fight.

I have been wanting it for a while. Donaire should face the Agbeko-Mares winner and then move up for this after that.

This is gonna be a real chess match.

I actually don't want either of them to lose. But at the same time this fight will be amazing.

 

Who would you put your money on? Thats the ultimate way to pick when your 2 favorite fighters go at it.

 

It's hard to say because I think Rigondeaux has more potential but I think Donaire is better p4p at the moment... But at the same time I think Rigondeaux is bigger and stronger.

I would not bet on this fight. If I did I would probably bet on Rigo because I'd expect Donaire to be the favorite.

 

Same here i can actually see the odds heavily on Donaires favor. He looked very special last time out and Rigo has the Cordoba fight still in his rearview mirrror.

I just cant see Donaire winning other than a big shot landing and ending it quick. I think Rigo counters better and power wise i think they would be about even. Speed would be similar with a sligh edge to Donaire.

Would not be surprised to see this at about 3-1 in Donaires favor if not wider.

 

I would love to see the fight happen, 2 of my favourite current fighters. Rigo not quite ready for Donaire yet however.

 

I would go Rigo, even though I have nothing but respect for Donaire, I think Rigo has levels that he can go to that we haven't really seen yet.
