Jarrett Hurd is and was not fighting to the best of his abilities for a long time. Jason Welborn (a British level fighter) was lighting him up, and actually rag dolled him at one point. That should never have happened, and it was very fortunate Welborn is a feather fisted, low class fighter. As much as I was happy to see Julian Williams win, Hurd should have won if he fought to the best of his abilities. In the end, on this night J-Rock was the only deserving victor. Hurd could do very well with a new trainer who understands what he possesses and maximises his potential.
He is a typical face first brawler though, he needed his size and chin to walk trough his opponents. Don't expect him to become some defensive genious or a stick and move type fighter anytime soon, no matter who he trains with.
