:good Give KP a couple of tune-ups and this could be a damn good scrap. Kelly's straighter punches have a really good shot to land.
Horrible fight for both. Without a few decent wins behind him, Pavliks value for Froch is nothing, and without a few tuneups behind him, Pavlik has no chance to survive the 4th round vs Froch.:rofl
A couple of points i'd like to correct you on......... Taylor clearly won the early rounds, including the flash Knockdown in the 3rd,this was a legitimate Knockdown but Froch wasn't in any trouble, his head was clear and he took the count and carried on.Froch then started walking him down from the 7th round,he was outboxing and out jabbing Taylor, any success Taylor had from the 7th round onwards was sporadic at best, and not enough to win rounds. He was then rocked by a couple of heavy shots in the 12th,soon after he was dropped and badly hurt,he got to his feet but was backed against the ropes and after a number of unanswered punches, and about to lose conciousness he was saved by the Ref. This MYTH that Taylor outboxed Froch for 11 and a half rounds and nearly stopped him in the 3rd,is exactly that,a MYTH.
That is why I wasn't too upset to see the Cunningham/Bute stuff fall through. Kelly was rushing/being rushed/ whatever.
isnt Froch tied up in a 2 fight scenario with Bute??? well this is a risky fight, Pavlik coulda won this on his best nights but now no id prefer garcia to manage him thru some easy fights first
Wow, respect Pavlik if the fight were to happen. It is a fukin weird just few years back pavlik was undisputed middleweight champion of the world. My Dream Fight would be Kelly Pavlik vs Arthur Abraham somewhere 160-168. I would love to see that fight.
Hold Your ****ing horses here... who ever the real source is needs to chill.. 2nd... Ive said it, and ill say it again... Froch Is The 1 Top Fighter in 168 Kelly Could beat and KO. (He needs a 2 fights or so first). Froch's Style, wide hooks, and poor defense is the reason why he could lose! Kelly Punches Straight! Kelly Has stunning Power in his Jab that no other fighter Froch has fought has! If this is a "Brawl" Then its whoever has the most Heart that night wins. If Its a "Boxing" match, Then Id Favor Pavlik due to his str8 punches and landing "CLean Effective Punches" Rumor has it he is going back to 160 anyways. And in no Way shape or form would Kelly Get Stopped unless its on CUTS!
Pavliks used to beating up or losing to midgets at 160, Froch is a big, strong 168lb, should be a light heavyweight. Froch demolishes that beer swilling disgrace into oblivion!
Your losing your mind My friend. Give Kelly The credit he deserves. he is as Tough as anyone. If He keeps his distance with his Jab he is a tough dude to beat!
I think anyone giving Pavlik much of a chance is losing their mind.... Pavlik last good win was Jermain Taylor 4 years ago. His last fight against world class opposition was Sergio Martinez two years ago, and to be fair other than last one more round he did little better than domestic level Darren Barker did against him His last fight against anyone was nigh on a year ago against a nobody, and that was only an MD and Kelly doesnt seem to have carried his heavy hands up. Now you are saying he will have a good chance to stop Froch? They are both heavy handed with world class chins, but one is a small boned 160lb guy and one is a legit 168lb'r, together on that Froch has more unorthadox style, is in form and been fighting world class recently, Kelly is a massive undergdog, massive! I hope he can get himself sorted out but he needs to go back to 160 and he needs to start taking things seriously, because he's one loss from career over and he's too young for that!
Froch...stopping Pavlik...no The soppage comments baffle me too, Kelly's defense always gets underrated too. Agree but i do think it is accurate to attribute some of Froch's success from 7 on to Taylor's lack of conditioning where as against Pavlik there was no point from rd 1 on in either fight where Taylor had a noticable advantage and was outboxing Pavlik in the same manner. Froch walks around at 170, Pavlik has walked around at 180+ his entire career and is an inch taller. Kelly's built may not look at impressive or "strong" but Froch is not any naturally bigger than him, thats absurd. I would also give Kelly a slight edge in the chin and power department.
:thumbsup agreed with all of this. I'd also add that Froch's hands down style and lack of real speed/lateral movement (like what Sergio had) or technical brilliance (like what B-Hop had) doesn't exactly make for a great match up against Pavlik.
