Paulie doesn't have enough power to make Ortiz second guess his attacks. Ortiz will have no respect for the "Magic Man" and will take it to him. Only chance Paulie would have is if Victor's jaw has not completely healed and starts bothering Ortiz in the fight.

Doesn't want a Lopez rematch? Goes after the guy that is generally regarded as a light puncher instead? Ortiz is DONE. Lopez broke his jaw and his spirit.

How about he's taking a percieved lighter touch when just coming off of jaw surgery? Let him get in some kind of confidence builder. :patsch

Agreed. Remember Hatton vs Malinaggi except Ortiz is bigger and probably stronger than Hatton was, and punches harder. Ortiz TKO 9.

I cant help but agree with this. Ortiz only loses steam and confidence when he gets hit hard back for instance peterson, floyd, and lopez. but against malignaggi i think he would just walk through it

He has never had the strongest will and this would be his first fight back after a serious jaw cracking. No one has any idea how he will react to 'live fire'.

If Paulie will have to fight the TREE, Malignaggi will look like the losing guy whom Hatton fought before Pacquiao.

Ortiz will come in hungry and try to prove critics wrong in this fight.
If Cano can Knock Paulie down and only manages to win by Split Decision, Ortiz has the Power to stop Malignaggi or if not a UD win for Ortiz.

Ortiz walks Paulie down and the chin gets cracked. Paulie doesn't have enough fire power to keep Ortiz at bay for the entire fight, and with those feather fists of his, he certainly can't hurt him.

Flatlander has given us a pretty good run down on Ortiz. After Maidanna I'm pretty sure Oscar read Victor the riot act behind closed doors. Bottom line, Garcia told the smaller Lopez how to beat Victor. Just don't back down. Victor comes back and wants a fight against a guy that isn't known for punching power. Fair enough but he is still who he is.
