Rumors that C5 might be pulling out of boxing

UFC's popularity will always be limited. The product is to americanised for the British public and the actual in ring action is not exciting enough to a casual fan.

Im not going to spend hours digging up articles from 5 years ago. This is what happened.

Frank and ITV were in contract renewal negotiations for months, he wanted more money to do the Kessler vs Calzaghe fight. ITV would only offer what was contracted (same as Lacy) so Frank moved his stable to Setanta, taking ITV by suprise. They then **** themselves and made a deal to keep Khan.

 

Well that's not what Frank said from what I remember.

This is news to me, I have spent the last 15 years living by his every word, now it turns out the man I look up to as a father figure may have told lies.

That article notwithstanding, Frank renamed his promotional company to move the majority of his stable to Setanta while keeping Khan on ITV. The football thing was mostly an issue with the extra cash frank wanted for Kessler and Calzaghe. Rob is absolutely right.

Imediatley after ITV replaced Frank with Hennesey, and Frank left Setanta for Sky. So in terms of a source.....Frank cannot be taken seriously!

 

Well rememberd mate. Frank treats TV stations like Abramovich treats managers.

 

Frank at least was in a position to know what happened.
