There is a rumour going that GGG will not be back til canelo trilogy in September 2019 in mexico Azteca stadium. what are your thoughts on this will a longer rest really help ggg against canelo. I think this layoff will really help ggg against canelo. Canelo is fighting this may he fought fielding in december and ggg last year. so by the time ggg and canelo would fought next 2019 september canelo would of fought 3 times and ggg only one time in a years time . let me know your thoughts on this if a longer rest will benefit ggg and if maybe being really active will cause more wear and tear against when he fights ggg

I don't care anymore. Canelo showed in the second fight that he could bang with GGG. That was a close fight. The next fight, GGG will be a year older, 37, and on his way down. He's getting slower while Canelo is deep in his prime. Canelo wins that fight clearly, maybe even stops GGG with a continued body assault.
Golovkin was finally tested in the twilight of his career. He didnt get the proper challenges when he was in his prime. Its a shame the Pirog fight fell apart. Looking back at GGG's career, that could have been a career high win. GGG and Pirog were both in their primes. That fight could have easily gone the distance. Maybe Pirog would have beaten GGG? Who knows. We will never know. Jacobs fought a 35 year old GGG as did Canelo.

As for GGG as a top level boxer those days are over. He has gone MIA. You barely hear from him. He's turning 37 in April, made a solid 40 million in boxing. Thats a phenomenal career for a guy who was practically unknown when he had his HBO debut at 30 years old. In 2014 vs Geale he made 750k purse. An astronomical rise indeed. The hunger is gone now.

    Time to retire GGG

Yeah, and what was the reason why these fights were so late?

Did everyone suddenly forget the years of Canelo refusing to fight GGG at 160? Demanding 155 instead? Waited for GGG to get older, which we all started to see visible signs from the Brook fight onwards.

Won't matter though, Canelo won't get past Jacobs unless he's gifted (yet) another decision.

You know why people forgot? Because that only happened in GGGoonland. In the real world, Canelo fought Cotto in Dec. 2015, fought Khan in May 2016, Vacated the belt that same May, and by April 2017 had already signed to fight GGG that September. IN REALITY Golovkin waited 16 months.

Of course the trilogy is happening. It is the biggest money fight in combat sports.

I sense GGG is getting to retire at this rate cinnamon needs to close the show for the last and final time. He needs to do it so he won't leave no controversy . GGG is slipping . This is gingers chance to prove the haters (including myself)

GGG looked old in the second fight and his chin doesn’t seem to be what it used to be, so I don’t blame him for waiting for his last payday before retiring.

    Mayweather vs anyone
    McGregor vs anyone
    Joshua-Fury
    Joshua-Wilder
    Pacquiao-Mayweather 2

These fights are same big or even bigger. The rematch did less than a million PPV.

Dudes in maximum cash out mode now, so I'm not surprised. Honestly, can't blame him.

I wish we got these bigger fights a few years back when GGG was younger and fought 4 times a year.
