A "biased troll" ? You must be a GGG fan. I take great pride in being as unbiased as possible when it comes to scoring fights. And lets be clear : Pavlik's card for the first fight is clearly outside of the consensus. Most people had it close, even those that had it GGG winning had him winning the first fight narrowly. Pavlik to have it 9-3 , and further, to give GGG rounds 10,11 and 12, rounds that pretty much everybody agrees Canelo won is outside the norm. As far as Kelly knowing more about boxing than me, the fact that he was a professional boxer doesn't make his scoring of matches automatically correct, and that's pretty much your argument. I have the upmost respect for Kelly and what he did in his career, but when it comes to his scoring of the first fight, giving GGG rounds 4 through 12, 9 rounds in a row is absolutely ridiculous.
1)You're are an extremely biased fanboy to a certain few fighters. You have your reputation as a Canelo fan boy. 2)Kelly has put alot into boxing and would understand how a fight works. He's laced the gloves in a ring. That gives him "game sense" when it comes to how a fight goes. 3) 9-3 is a fairer score than a draw. Simple.
1) You have no clue what you are talking about and are only calling me a biased troll / fanboy because you disagree with what I'm saying. 2) Kelly has put a lot into boxing and surely understands how a fight works, but that doesn't make him inherently a more accurate judge / match scorer than you or me. Just because you've fought in the ring, doesn't automatically make you a good judge or an accurate round by round scorer. In many cases it makes you a worse scorer because you are biased in favor of a certain style, generally the style you fought at when you are a fighter. For example if a fighter has a reptuation as being a come forward brawler who throws a lot of punches, typically he is going to score rounds for come forward brawlers who throw a lot of punches. There's a reason why former fighters don't become pro judges. 3) Only a GGG fan boy would make that statement. The overwhelming consensus had Canelo winning rounds 10, 11, and 12. Kelly gave all 3 of those rounds to GGG. Kelly is clearly outside of the consensus when it comes to those rounds, so no amount of him being a former pro boxer makes his scoring of those rounds correct. Scoring 9 straight rounds for a fighter in rounds that could go either way or were seen as Canelo rounds is unjustifiable any way you try and dress it up.
That's what I expect - a gift. He is the golden cow of Vegas right now, with all those mexican fans. We are talking about **** tons of money here. I don't see how Canelo is going to lose vs someone if it's not a KO...
It's hard to win rounds vs Canelo because he does so many things in the ring that catch the eyes of the judges. He lands the most eye catching punches, he has tight defense, he lands a lot of body shots. Most fighters do not do these things and as a result judges score more rounds to Canelo than his opponents because he deserves to win the rounds. GGG came damn close to winning both fights, but it's hard to justify scoring enough rounds to GGG when Canelo is landing more of the eye catching work in most rounds.
He earned enough. Canelo doesn't need him anymore. Specially after the dominating victory. Canelo needs to move on.
I don't put on any doubts Canelos skills. Yes he is good, although I don't like his personality. My point was even if someone does very impressive things and clearly beat him in 12 rounds, the judges would still probably save him from losing.
1)You defend canelo on every topic even though you don't understand how being a "cash cow" works. Its like being McGregor in UFC. 2) Kelly is pretty neutral when it came to who he wanted to win between Canelo vs GGG, listen to his podcast once in a while. 3) Kellys scorecard had the correct person winning. The scorecard maybe a bit too tilted to GGG, but at least the correct person won, not a heavily gifted draw to Canelo.
I'd rather suffer from a made-up string of words than be so far below the level of intelligence to be classed "Conscious".
