When I said Brook's promoter is trying to force it to take place in Sheffield, you said Alexander shouldn't be concerned because he can: "pull 10,000 in ST Louis themselves against B level Contenders." To which I replied: "But he'll have to then give up the title" Which part of that doesn't make sense and doesn't address your point? Edit: Ok, I see where you're confused. Here's the scenario.... GBP and MR (Matchroom - Brook's promoters) are unlikely to come to an agreement, in which case the IBF will request a purse bid. Chances are, MR will win this; thus giving them the power to have it take place in Sheffield. So, Devon will no longer have the option to fight B-level contendors in St Louis. He'll have to travel to Sheffield to face Brook, if he wants to keep his title.
Yes I thought purse bids may have something to do with it but was not entirely sure as I was under the impression that he would be set up in yet another eliminator, we all know matchroom and co will not want to throw kell in with alexander just yet this purse bid may not even be viable. Alexander will hang on to it as long as possible imo.
Btw where is this rumor, are you referring to what Brook's promoter "thinks" Alexander will do lol? Because that is not a rumor, that is just what Eddie Hearn hopes happens so Brook doesn't have to actually fight a elite fighter (that being the chaotically boring Alexander) to pick up a ABC trinket. I like Kell Brook, and I don't know about you guys but I would actually like to see if he can beat a real live opponent with a pulse. The poor conditioning excuse aside (because that is all it is, is a excuse), Kell went life and death with not much more then a fringe contender in Carson Jones. I like Carson as well, but he is what he is, which is not that great. I would like to see what Brook is actually capable of, and that means fighting someone, that actually has a chance of beating him as well. Even if it is against one of the more boring yet elite fighters between 135 and 154, it's still a challenge I would like to see if Brook can overcome. Don't you guys want to see the same?
Definitely an excuse. Brook was getting bested by a hungry relentless pressure fighter and they tried to cover it up by blaming his conditioning. He never had problems going 12 rounds before. Jones hitting him was the issuse, not because Kell didn't eat his breakfast. Alexander vacating the belt doesn't sound right either. He only has the thing 3 days.
Isnt Kell Brooks the guy who should have lost his last fight against a B level fighter who gets beat up by Canelo in sparring?
He's the guy who beat Matthew Hatton in better fashion than Canelo and who Matt Hatt said was the best he'd ever fought. 29 have tried and failed, same as the next 29
Kell is pretty much their main fighter. They will spare no expense for him. You see similar examples where golden boy were out bid by Senchenko's promoters etc etc
