He could probably drop 8 lbs and dehydrate back to his normal fighting weight.

I'd like to see Kessler vs. Martinez.

    I agree.

At 164 it would be a great fight.

Violent. . Green's arms locked up in fencing position which is indication of brain damage, and memory loss. . Notice how they stayed locked up in the position they were in when he got hit. . This is not good. . Not good. . .

Kessler is no Pavlik and Martinez is not a big puncher and not a Ward or Calzaghe. Kessler beats him EASY if the weight drain doesnt affect him so much

nahh just a rumour ... Just natural after a KO like that that he gets some extra attention for a week - come next week he will only be interesting to the more likely opponents ... He'll proberbly be fighting Magee next - That fight will sell well in Denmark as Magee just Larsen and Markussen - and fight that can be made and that makes economic sense while he waits for the bigger fights.

Martinez would box rings around him at 160, should be at 164, whens the last time Kessler made 160 has he ever fought there?

Just saw the Kelly Pavlik vs Sergio Gabriel Martinez Highlights.Wasen't Pavlik in front until 9 round? In that fight Pavlik seems powerless and slow or is it me? Btw I do not understand why Pavlik was compared to Kessler back in the days, hmm?! Think Kessler would take Martinez out!

Never happen, bull**** rumour. SS is a small middleweight and Kessler was a big Super middle. Can't and won't happen.

LOL he should just go back to 168 and stay there, he can still get a Ward rematch and Froch rematch

Kessler would make 165 easily, so it's a possibility

however, I think Sergio first wants Chavez Jr.

Great fight and an awesome legacy maker for Kessler. Martinez is vastly overrated by the fat yanks and would be chopped down by the viking warrior.

Kesslers always been a big SMW. Rumour has it that's why Kessler's has gone up to LHW, he's struggling to make 168. And Sergio is a small middle, so the idea of him fighting Kessler is mad!!

Listen to episode 162 of OTR Boxing radio where Ronnie Shields is talking about Sergio's weight and him possibly fighting JCC jr:

"People think that cos he fights at middleweight he's a real big guy, but he's not. The way I saw him eating the whole week (B4 the Macklin fight) I knew he didn't have any kind of weight problem and he weighed in on the scale at 157 pounds and that surprised alot of people. When I saw him and the way he was eating I couldn't believe it, I think he could still make 154 if he had to, but I guess 160 is where all the big fights are and he can fight at that weight and I don't see anyone beating him at that weight right now. He's one of the best fighters in the world, he's too big for Pac he's too big for Floyd and I don't see those fights happening for him right now, so I think he's going to have to stay at 160 and clean out that division."

He goes on to talk about Sergio fighting JCC Jr, Abraham if he comes down etc etc. He's then asked what he thinks about Sergio moving up to 168 to get bigger fights and paydays etc reply:

"I think that's just a little bit too big for him because those guys at 168 they walk around at 180, 185 y'know, and I think after his weigh in Sergio might have weighed 160, so he only gained like 3 pounds! So if he's fighting a guy at 168 and by the time they weigh in plus 24 hours to rehydrate they're going to be 180 pounds easy. He can't be givin away 20-25lbs, that's alot of weight no matter who you are, that's alot of weight to give up and I don't see him competeing at that weight right now, maybe latter on if he happens to grow some, but I just don't see it." Then he goes on to talk about fighting Abraham again etc etc.

Ronnie Shields is a graet trainer and IMO Kessler is a fantasy fight that'll never happen.

Kessler at 160 is a load of ****. Crap fight and just makes me dislike martinez even more. This guys hasn't done anything notable since williams and is ranked so high.
