Rumours in the Boxing Circle that Joshua could leave MatchroomRuiz

Yep when your opposition promoter and management wise is Haymon and there seems to be a tacit agreement between everyone else to make business as difficult as possible for the Brentwood gang. Eddie now has to try and leverage what he can from promoters he publically ridiculed and lied about a few months ago, all the while Ruiz is becoming a mega-star in his own right.

 

Even if he loses there are still fights with fury, wilder and Whyte I think he beats Ruiz next makes a defence then hopefully the wbc lineal fight is on

You don't have to be impressed. But there's a lot of talk on here which relates to it. Joshua's career is over, Joshua's a joke in America, Joshua's got to leave Hearn because his career has been wrecked by him.

In the last year Joshua fought Povetkin and Ruiz and became the thirteenth highest earning fighter in the world. Read a few posts on here and you'd assume his career was a joke. I'm asking how people square that particular circle.

Personally I think this loss was needed as I think he was getting too obsessed with his legacy and getting the Wilder & Fury fights to enable him to do so and he took his eye off the ball and in my opinion so did his team. He will come back a mean machine no doubt and he will be brutal and in his rematch we will see for sure if his boxing skills lost him the fight or his forward thinking.

I think he wins rematch and then the buzz for one of the other fights happening will reach fever pitch. Can he beat the other two.....I’m not sure he can but if he does then he will leave a huge legacy without a doubt but that goes for whichever of the three beats the other two.

Fair enough.

He’s had an excellent career so far. If you wanted to be picky you could argue that he picked an easy title off Martin and had the refs help in the Parker fight but the history books show that he had 3 of the 4 titles after only 21 fights which is very impressive.

He’s good enough to go and win them belts back if not in a rematch then at some point in the future. He also should not leave Hearn imo.

However, whilst ‘joke’ is a harsh word to use about him in America, the reality is that they will consider him to be hype job that got exposed by a fat lad on some obscure streaming platform. Perhaps if Joshua can beat him in the rematch at MSG, then that might go some way to repairing the damage to his reputation. In the meantime, he’s going to have to stomach watching Fury’s stock rise considerably over there and be widely regarded as the real number 1.

What happened to fans not giving two f***s and just wanting to see the fight happen.

I like AJ, Fury and Wilder. Just want to see them fight each other more than once and see how it plays out. All are capable of beating each other in my opinion.

 

But why does that stuff about everyone in America thinking he's an exposed hype job matter? I think people make way too big a deal of 'America' largely because these days boxing is a minority sport there. I reckon about ninety nine percent of people in America could barely name you an active heavyweight.

 

Was being ironic - but cheers! Really not bothered about the wealth of boxers - although I suppose it does have a relationship to whether you’ve had a good career or not. So I’n that respect, Tony H does have a point.

 

Listen Barker/Bellew/Fowler, if that was Fury who got knocked out by Ruiz you’d say that it was a massive deal and post about how his credibility stateside is in tatters. You know it and we all know it.

 

I suppose the point I'm making could be summed up by the idea of Fury and Joshua both retiring today.

If they did, both won largely the same titles, both beat Wladimir Klitschko, both were at various points regarded the best in the world. Yet one has earned about twenty times more money than the other.

However, some are happy to tell you Joshua needs to ditch his promoter as soon as he can as he's been handled appallingly. I just don't get it. A promoters job is surely to earn his man as much as he can. It can't just be Joshua selling himself. He's barely got a personality.
