Rumours in the Boxing Circle that Joshua could leave MatchroomRuiz

A promoters job seems more to earn as much money for himself. That’s the problem & why people see Hearn as using Joshua as a cash cow - and in doing so, avoiding the huge fights with Wilder.

 

It’s a sleeping giant of a market isn’t it...a minority, but a massive minority. That’s why they wanted to branch out over there wasn’t it, to potentially become a global star. That was a huge deal to both Joshua and Hearn.

 

... as much as I like Joshua, history won’t judge him on the money he won - he ll be judged on how he reacts to adversity. I hope he reacts well and beats Ruiz convincingly.

 

I bet if you dig through his post history you’ll find something about how amazing it will be to have Joshua make waves in the US and build his stock in that market.

 

But to repeat a point, when Joshua is earning more in a year than all but twelve other people in the entirety of professional sport, how much is Hearn using him as his personal cash cow?

I suppose Joshua doesn't need Hearn/Matchroom if he has a deal with SKY that works independent of them. But Matchroom have in the past claimed that have an exclusive deal with SKY. So I don't know.
Let's not get things twisted and imagine Eddie Hearn is the guy who made Joshua famous and rich. Hearn has done a good job but it is SKY SPORTS broadcasting that maximizes a boxer's exposure. Matchroom just happens to have been well connected with a great SKY contract over the last few years.
Joshua has actually probably done more for Hearn than Hearn has done for him.

 

Protectionism. As long as Joshua keeps winning, Hearn keeps coining it in ... Hence why a risky fight with Wilder has been avoided - perhaps by both promoters - at least until the end of their career and a big last pay day. Obviously the Ruiz defeat wasn’t part of the plan - but could be a blessing. If Joshua wins rematch, as I suspect, I think Joshua will demand a career defining fight with Wilder - or Fury ... before it’s too late.

 

So Bunce has been ''hearing'' about Wlad coming back, but as I showed in that previously attached tweet Bunce stated that it could be ''bogus or it could be real'', meaning that Bunce: doesn't know the reliability of the actual rumor and links which isn't a very good source is it?

Clearly Bunce had been hearing some things which had some truth in them but you were acting as if Wlad's comeback was 100% official even saying previously that your post was ''officially confirmed by Steve Bunce''. It's alright to speculate on a potential Wlad comeback but it's a bit weird to take everything out of proportion and act as if you're in the know and spread lies about ''official'' comebacks, when nothing has been confirmed at this stage.

 

There should really be some kind of ban for consistent, intentional and deliberate spread of misinformation.

 

I agree. There should also be some kind of ban for whiners as well.

 

What would qualify as whining, surely whining wouldn't be having a discussion/debate? Also it would be nice if you reviewed my previous post just above the one you quoted, would love to know your thoughts on it.

 

I mean, there's a reason why most fighters not based in the US want themselves to be established in the US...

 

There's also the question of which country they come from though. Joshua has made more in the last two years than any active boxer other than Canelo, and in that time he's only had one fight in America. You can make massive money (as he's demonstrated) in the U.K. You can't really say the same about, to pick two obvious examples, Kazakhstan or the Philippines.
