according to reports in the daily star today, a rematch will be made betwen hatton and floyd in 18 months.

I still think hatton could beat floyd despite saturdays fight. history has taught us that just because a boxer has the measure of one fighter on one night it does not necesserily mean he will have the measure in the rematch. Look at:

Maruez V Vasuez: Marquez well had vasquez number in the first fight. i lost 100 pounds on the rematch though. completely different fight

Ali: Frazier muredered him first fight. never stopped him winning the next 2

Graziano V Zale: Zale was the much better fighter. it still did not stop rocky from winning one

Jersey joe walcot: It took him 3 fights to beat ezzard charles.

Jake lamotta: he lost 5 times to the greatest ever srr. it didn't mean he couldn't beat once or twice(very disputed 3rd or 4th fight)

Evander Holyfield: Bowe well had the measure of him in the first fight

Roberto Duran: Dejesus had the measure of him in the first fight

I still fancy floyd for the rematch, but you never know. I would really be excited like first time around

If its true. I think they really expect Hatton to take down Cotto and the other contenders.

    I hope not.....

I can't be bothered with the build up to another one of these, once is enough in a lifetime.

Hatton got beat by the better man, move on.

fighters aren't active enough anymore to fight rematches to fights that aren't controversial.

PBF is moving up and hatton is moving down. don't count on it happening.

He was beaten so comfortably I do not think it should happen.

It will never happen unless Hatton beats De La Hoya or Cotto.
