Nice contraversial article..lots of hits and I enjoyed your satire.:good I thought you would present both sides of the argument and remain neutral, but that was totally biased. Look...I know Moore was a badass and "found ways to win", but you said he was "more skilled than Jones" dont make me laugh. I won't say one would murder the other, but I will say if they fought three times, Jones schools him twice and Moore catches him with a bomb in one of them. Moores a legend and all time great...but he had his ass kicked by lesser fighters than RJJ. Man e-mail me your crazy articles from now on so I can fix them for you. atsch my work is never done:-(
That article was the most bias pice of crap i have ever read. He basically bashed roy and made it seem that he ahd no chance against the greay archie moore. and to me I think if they would have fought when both of them were in their primes at 175. Roy would beat Archie. 2 much speed and power and agility. I respect Archie for what he has done for he sport, most definately an ATg without a shout of a doubt. But 2day these are different fighters than what those older dudes are use to facing. more athletic, more speed, jus overall more ability. Its unfair to compare the old era to the new b/c if we do that, then in evry sport. Most older players would suffer in the newer era. Boxing, basketball, baseball. Jus to name a few. players in bball most of them would get killed on a bball court in 2days league. b/c players are just more athletic than back then. Same in baseball, personally i think the big sluggers of the past, would suffer in the league 2day. Pitchers are 10x's better than back then, outfielders are way more athetic. Its just unfair to compare old to new. But that article was biased as hell, he didnt even show what could happen from Roys perspective. I just think that author was a Roy hater point blank
i cant believe how people forgot just how dominant RJJ was during his reign. he made Toney and Nard look like a cake walk.
I would favor Moore over Jones. But not the way that article played it out. Jones certainly could beat him.
The article starts with BS, where he quotes LaMotta's forword, that is full of false statements, such as there being only one champion per class and there being only 8 weight classes. These are false claims, there was a dispute between who's the real world champion was, the NYSAC or the NBA title. Such as 1943-44, the NYSAC world champions are Beau Jack and Bob Montgomery, and the NBA world champions are Sammy Angott and Juan Zurita. And there were more than 8 divisions, several jr. weights were already in place, such as jr. welterweight, for example. But the author, of course, is unaware of this, same as LaMotta, both showing lack of knowledge of boxing history. The article is pure garbage.
damn.....Rummy got his arse pwnd I was curious to read how he thought Roy might do but damn looked like Roy geats beat up easy. Nice avatars in this thread:yep
