"According to data from Nielsen, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES posted excellent viewership numbers, drawing over 25 million viewers, while setting a record-breaking peak TV ratings share of 58.5% in Thailand, and registering similarly strong numbers across the region in Asia."

    That's cre cre!

    Yes, for Thailand.

This isn't unusual. Acelino Freitas used to do tens of millions of viewers in Brazil and Koki Kameda did the same in Japan even more recently. The Klitschko brothers fights in Germany rarely did less than ten million viewers. In Mexico Juan Manuel Marquez, Canelo, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr fights have consistently done over twenty million viewers. Pacquiao did about 60 million in the Philippines a few times. Boxing is incredibly local. You just need a star for the country to rally around.

Unfortunately, popularity rarely goes international. That's why Mayweather never fought outside the US. In England, Hatton was the draw and made the lions share of the pay per view money for that market. When he wasn't fighting a Brit the UK crowd didn't really care for Mayweather. They mostly support their own. Like David Haye and Tyson Fury raked in money fighting nobodies. Guys like Brook or Khan probably do a lot better than Mayweather in the UK market. Chris Eubank Jr is incredibly bankable over there. They'd rather have a local domestic level scrap than watch two world class foreigners unfortunately. Their ideas of super fights are kind of weird. You'll hear them getting real heated about two guys Americans have likely never heard of.

Same thing for Australia. I did a double take when I heard Anthony Mundine and Daniel Geale were fighting on Australian pay per view. Those two hacks walk on water over there. It's like when you hear that some hasbeen band from the 80s is still big and touring in Asia. "Yeah man, Fountains of Metal is huge in Mongolia."
