You have to run more often in order to avoid problems like these

Just keep at it. Run a few times a week. Eventually you'll get in better shape.

Get a heavy bag indoors, I have two holes drilled in my ceiling on either side of one the roof supports with a climbing rope looped over the top and a carabina to attach the bag to, this way it's never too cold to do a bit of a work out!:good

I just went for a run, was about 30 mins long. Each time I go it gets longer so its just a matter of doing it as much as possible. The fitness will come.

When coming back after a layoff, it's REALLY important to come back VERY SLOWLY.

You're body is telling you, "hold on *****... maybe you're ready to plow down 10 miles, but I ain't..."

The body has de-conditioned so now you gotta re-condition it like how you would when first starting out.

Fortunately, it takes a lot less time time to get back into shape since the underlying network of neural pathways and capillaries is already there and just needs to be re-activated instead of building new ones.

Sadly, the body begins losing its conditioning after about a week of inactivity, so you have a ways to go to get your schwerve back.

As mentioned, just come back bit by bit. Don't try to get it back all at once.
