You keep saying this, but no-one has actually ever said there's only one way to train. The guy just pretty much said what I was thinking and seeing as I'm always wrong in your eyes he must be wrong...

Walking can't really be used by an actual athlete, apart from maybe a mental thing. Walking just doesn't push the body hard enough for a sugnificant change, especially compared to jogging or spriniting.

"Cutting" the muscle, as in defining the muscle, is a process of lowering body fat.

Walking is an aerobic activity yes, but the point is, it's a crap one.

Wow, you're starting to sound like me.

    You gotta explain this one.

Virus, you have showed low analytical skills so far,re-read the posts or clear off, fight your own battles.....I have explained enough for you to get on with your homework which is to have an open mind and actually digest whats written, not what you imagine is written.....

Read my post above, I think I'm doing ok.

Why would I reread it if I understood what you were saying?

    Huh?

I have an open mind, but when someone says walking which pretty much everybody does in their day to day lives improves conditioning, can be used by an athlete for conditioning and can get you down to 2% bodyfat I question what is being said. As I've done so you get defensive, for some reason. Maybe come up with some facts, articles, proof of what you're saying instead of "But it works for me, so I don't care what you say".

I have given you proof regarding dorian yates,i have also repeatedly said it wont work for everyone.....I dont claim that one general method works for all, unlike others....End of.....You are looking for things that i havent said, like i said, low analytical skills......

    Where? I haven't seen anything.

I can give you a general method that works; eat a healthy, balanced diet on a deficit and go do sprints, this will lower your body fat. Are you going to try and argue that won't work for everyone?

    Coming from you, that's funny.

The sprints wont work for those with knee problems, and i have never lost weight by sprinting personally...
Once again you cant see evidence in front of your own nose.....

You do know that doesn't stop it being a general method? Another would be intervals on a cross trainer, bike, rowing machine, stair master. The general part is the intervals.

Were you on a deficit? If you're trying to say you were on a deficit and after sprinting you didn't lose weight, then to be honest, I'd say you're lying.

For a 34 year old you sure act immature.

You know virus now you are accusing me of lying? You seem to be one of those theory guys that thinks his books are gospel.....There are many reasons that one ceases to lose fat/weight on a deficit while sprinting or otherwise, this includes cortisol production, slowing of the metabolism, (homeostasis/inertia.) compromised testosterone level,etc......You really dont seem to know about these variables and you think one size fits all?
I realise that you probably have little proper education and know little about biology except from fitness magazines....
Do you even know how cortisol/overtraining/lowered test level/elevated oestrogen affects muscle status and weight/fat loss/water retention?
You are whats wrong with fitness posters, all generality and no DEEP knowledge.....
Is there only one best cereal as well virus? Is the best diet for sports only with high carbs? Do you know the science of the no carb/low carb diet? Which is the better of these diets?
If you can answer these properly/intelligently i will carry on,if not then i know your an uneducated schmuck who thinks he know about fitness....

    Hardening muscles?
Do strength training! and hit yourself.
Cutting muscle? Take a knife! Losing it, you mean? Don't eat.

i dont really know about it but isnt 2% fat a little overkill for almost anyone, and there have been research saying that walking too long actually drops testerones causing body to lose muscle...

enquirer i think virus is right walking in no way benefits you in the sport of martial arts in anyform. since this is a boxing forum what good will a soft 2 hour walk help you for a intense 3min round?

if long walks can do you so good, wow my mom walks for like 5-6hours shopping she must be superman

Virus dont know about specific boxing conditioning, and virus is too dogmatic to realise there is no one best way to train. There are too many variations in genetics and responses to different training methods to have 'best' methods of training that fit all...
