I have started to jog in the mornings to help me get in shape for summer and in my area there are many people jogging/running in the morning. What I have noticed, is that 98% of these people, man and woman are now wearing running tights. I guess i am a traditional old school sweatpants/shorts person but my question is, is this a new fad or are there benefits to wearing these for jogging? Any advice or opinions on this? Do any of you wear them and what do you think of them? Benefits, etc.........

IDK but i think underarmour is supposed to be in style right now. I don't have any tights but i think it looks rediculous unless your a hot chick or a guy with substantial muscle. wearing it underneath your regular clothes might be comfy tho.

I have a pair of underarmour heat gear compression tights. The compression is meant to help with recovery but I personally haven't noticed any difference. I simply wear them because it's cold and I find normal track bottoms get too sweaty and are not as comfortable. But come the warm weather I will be back to just shorts.

I like tight shirts like UA but I'm not very much into tight pants. When I run I wear track pants with UA cold gear. I always find it funny to see people run in pro gear at ****ing snail speed, my road work consists of loads of lateral and backwards running, and even then my tempo is higher than most of them.

tights are for people that don't care about there junk, or there junk is so small, there not going to harm them. I'd stay with the old school
    sweatpants/shorts

Tights can be useful if it is particularly cold, or if you have a specific problem such as shin splints as they can help to retain the heat around the muscle. If it isn't really, really cold, and you have no problems with your legs then save the expense, stick your sweats on and hit the road, Jack

A: I have those Under Armour tights for running.
B: I would never wear them without at least shorts over them.

They are good if it's cold and if you're running for a long period of time. Keeps your legs warm and prevents chafing from your clothing.

I use to get laughed at for just jogging when I first started by a some of my druggie neighbors. Am fairly sure if I started wearing tights a murder plot would ensue.

Altho it has been a few years now and most don't fuk with me any more. ;)
