My best official 5K time is 17.51 which was on a flat as **** course in Australia over a year ago. Likewise a 38.08 10K. I've actually got a 34 minute ''10K'' time next to my name somewhere but it would of been generous to call it a 8K race. Likewise supposedly I've broken 17 minutes for 5K atleast a dozen times. But some of them were probably half a mile short. Furthest race distance was 10 miles. Got 68 minutes something for that. Last year have been training for middle distance which means **** all miles in training compared to what I was doing. Can just about get away with it for a 5K but couldn't run a decent 10K. http://www.thepowerof10.info/athletes/profile.aspx?athleteid=106508 That's me obviously. I imagine Mr VIP would be on there. It doesn't include every race you do but with his times he should be on there.
Half the world celebrates my birthday mate. Can you say the same? Anyway if your running 30 minute odd 10K's you'll be on there champ.
Dont know the distance but it´s hard enough for me have to do 2 tree minute breaks. Used to do the distance in 1h 40 + minutes with 4 breaks. Now i run a little longer under 1h 30 min while twice running at my maximum speed and then taking the 3 min walking rest. All i can say is that interval training is way better.
Back when I was around 200lbs (I'm 6ft), my Personal Records were: 6:mile, 25 min 5K. Average 4 and 5 mile running pace was about 8:30 min/mile Now that I'm old (36) and overweight (275lbs, but still running about 4 times a week) my PR's are: 1.5 mile: 14min 25 sec 5K: 35:01 10K: 1:12:23 Average 4-5 mile running pace is around 11:30 or 12 min/mile. I know, not awesome, but considering my age/weight, I think I do ok.
