Last July I did 3 miles in 18:27.
November I got 2 miles in 11 minutes and some change.

I've never gone more than 5 miles. Nowadays, I haven't run since March and would do 3 in about 24/25 minutes (estimated based on what happened last time I took a layoff).

Also, I've had pneumonia 3 or 4 times so I'm not terribly distraught over not being a total trackstar lol.

And Mr. VIP is full of ****, because no serious runner (which he would have to be with those times) would say 5-6 miles in under 30 minutes. If you run that fast, you know your time and distance, you don't just estimate like that. And 6 miles in 30 minutes is some serious running...

My best 5K time was 20:33 and my best 10K was 44:54. I couldn't do those times now though I was a skinny 120lbs back then, I weigh about 140lbs now I can do 5K now in about 25 mins.

Of interest to this thread, the fastest time recorded for the Mile, by any Boxer happened in 88. It was 3.54 by Richard Adams running for Essex Beagles in the AAA, Finals. It was the 4th fastest time recorded that year.

He'll avoid answering the question, like he's avoided telling me what amateur club he's at. Because he talks out his scruffy pipe.

I know your a blackpool lad VIP and I can't wait to find out who you are. Sure we'll know a few of the same people so we can have a right good chat about my slow left hook, poor pad technique and the fact that despite been only 28 - i'm an old man.

    See you soon.:good

I hope your joking. The womens world record for 10k is just 7 seconds under 30min and world record for men is 26.46. To do it in half an hour would be some serious running.

Most of the guys on this thread are very good runners, never timed my 10k, dont do it anymore either. Right now Im just trying to break the 12min 2miles and Im a long way off.

Add in a 1.35 600m into there mother ****ers. Which is certainly faster than I've ever run a rep before. I reckon this was the ESB man within me though cos I ****ing died and wasn't able to complete the session:patsch.

Anyway what's VIP's real name? If he's even running 32 minutes then 99% chance it will be on power of 10. Hell he'll be ranked inside the top 10.

Was training wrong mate, had a good 'boxing skills' trainer amateur and a good 'boxing skills' trainer when I turned pro but never had a trainer who knew enough about the body.

Got beat in fights I shouldn't have lost because I lacked the right kind of fitness. My fault should have been more Knowlegably myself. Could bang in the ams but in the pro's never had any confidence in my conditioning due to the fact my training was all wrong. So i'd hurt people but wouldn't try to finish or be confident picking up the pace.

I hurt Steve Murray, Ricky Burns and Carey, and I had both Mcallister and Hardcastle on the floor. All fights I think I could have won if I'd been training right with a trainer who could advise me correctly and not guess or over-train me the wrong way.
