Like you said, he's not nearly as elusive as Byrd, even then I think Ike would stay on his ass throwing volumes of leather.

 

Could anybody right now, other than Wladimir, have success with the late 1990s Ike?

I don't think so. He will go down as one of the biggest wastes of talent in boxing history. Just think of the excitement he would have brought.

 

He would've cleared out today's division a lot quicker than Wladimir currently is as we speak.

Ike had a great chin, speed and hit extremely hard. it's a shame what happend to him

 

He wouldn't have fought so defensively against Sultan, that's for sure.

 

lesser fighters like calvin lampkin, keith walton and anthony wade have gone the distance with ike. so chagaev has a chance of lasting the whole distance too (if he doesn't decide to make it a brawl). and let's not forget chagaev beat savon twice as an amateur!

 

Yeah. And Chagaev has ZERO, count 'em ZERO, victories over world class opposition. Ike would obliterate the White Tyson. How could Chag possibly win?

Ike is far bigger, stronger, better skilled, far harder puncher, amazing chin.

Chag just has decent skills.
