These things happen. No need to get one's panties in a bunch over it. He's also the guy that took Volo on short notice and did his best to work it out.
Was this meant to be relevant to what I said? :huh My points were essentially A. It's not as though he's afraid to take on the best-which he's proved. B. Minimum risk fights happen all the time and are nothing out of the ordinary to even bother talking about. Fighters fight. Being a name fighter doesn't obligate him to never take F and D level opposition whenever he damn well feels like it. Chagaev's not doing anything out of the ordinary to be singled out. There's nothing to ***** about, essentially, unless you just want to ***** for bitching's sake. :conf
Ruslan Chagaev v Werner Kreiskott I'm all for this fight! - because it actually makes Deontay Wilder look a little better.
I canny agree, Icy, but if this kind of thing helps you vent, and prevents ulcers or what have you, then I support you. :yep
I think Chag is one of the best in the division, if he can get his sharpness and *A game* back to where it was before. But his best days may be past him, even though he's not very old or battle worn. The shellacking he took from Wlad was quite a thashing, but to this day, Chag was one of the most determined to bore his way inside fighters Wlad has fought to date. He just KEPT coming, trying to get inside, all the way to the end. Others run, or stay on the outside, but Chag kept bobbing and weaving, attempting to get inside, inspite of the tremendous shots he was taking repeatedly. I hope he gets his career back on track and works himself back to the top of the division again. I enjoy watching him fight, as he's such a talented, skilled fighter.
yeah but chaggy is shot. any fight can be a loss, he was losing to drumond before the cut stoppage but was up on the hometown cards, still an awful performance and that was 4 years ago
Chagaev's last 3 opponents have been Manswell, Zumbrun and now Kreiskott. All very poor and not good enough if he wants to make it back into contention. You know, if you had said that 5/6 years ago, you may have had a case. But Chagaev is shot now and the current version of Malik schools him with ease.
:good Yeah obvs. But Chagaev could still be a useful gatekeeper, at the very least he should be fighting guys who will give him a decent workout. I just don't like fighters not fighting appropriate opposition.
