Ruslan Chagaev vs. Kertson Manswell & Denis Boytsov vs. Darnell Wilson RBR

Round 1

Boytsov comes out jabbing in Ding's face. Wilson backs up to the ropes, hunkered down behind a high guard and making himself an even shorter target for the Russian with three inches on him. Boytsov blocks as Wilson unleashes a big 1-2 from long range up out of a half-crouch. STIFF Boytsov jab to the face, turns Wilson's head as he's circling outside. Boytsov is jabbing hard, but sparingly and all one-and-done...and not closing the distance with his feet, just waiting for Wilson to wander in too close. Big wide left hook by Boytsov and Wilson ducks under it and grabs him around the torso. Wilson dives in past his own missed jab for a right to the body and doesn't land clean. They exchange and Wilson lands a solid left as Boytsov misses his. Boytsov takes a few short hopping steps forward, then back. Boytsov is advancing at a crawl and Wilson is begrudgingly giving ground. They come together throwing straight shots, both blocking with their other hand. Tactical opener.

Round 2

Boytsov is jabbing up top and Wilson is moving both of his heavily muscled arms up in front of his face to create an impenetrable wall. Boytsov is looking for holes, patiently examining Wilson's defense. Finally Boytsov finds one, forcing Wilson to turn away from a quick jab from around the side and not see a big right hand coming behind it. Good jab by Boytsov as Wilson jumps in throwing a straight flurry. Big overhand right by Wilson, caught on the arm of Boytsov. Another right hand by Boytsov at the bell.

Nobody has landed anything especially clean.

Round 3

Wilson hangs back and jabs, with Boytsov too far away for it to accomplish anything. Just a precautionary jab, a warning to predators like a cobra's hood or a peacock's unfurled tailfeathers. Boytsov is a patient breed of predator, though. The jab neither discourages him, nor does it impede his progress as he takes short steps to the side to get inside on Wilson and bash him with whip-snap left hooks to the side of the head. Wilson goes full mayhem for a moment, driving through with hard body shots with both hands but not getting much through cleanly. Boytsov circles left and throws a piercing jab, caught on Wilson's horizontally turned left forearm. BIG 1-2 to the face by Boytsov!!! Wilson stood up to it well, but grabs Boytsov after flurrying in on him from off the ropes. Wilson ducks a Boytsov jab, backs up to the ropes, and feigns a right hand to the body but thinks better of it when he sees Boytsov's counter cocked and ready to loose.
