Ruslan Chagaev vs. Matt Skelton

yep i saw this in warren`s column today.

warren has stopped purse bids for a skelton european title fight to concentrate on a skelton v chagaev wba fight which warren says is very close to being a done deal.

heard that before though.

 

All Skelton has to do is beat Sprott again. Now, while it won't be an eliminator, and while Skelton won't fight the champion, instead fighting a 10-10 Eastern European and then Danny Williams in the conclusion to their triology, with the winner fighting for the WBA title, after facing an Eastern European journeyman and Audley Harrison, with the winner of that fight facing the WBA champion, after facing Julius Francis, with the winner getting a shot for the WBA title...

Skelton's future is already all mapped out.

 

yep with warren you have to ask how long is the piece of string.

warren`s terms for allowing a haye v macranelli fight , were that haye had to fight skelton if he beat macranelli.

 

Skelton has not fought out of England and seems pretty skill less

 

Skelton is way over rated! He is a decent fighter but he doesn't deserve this shot.

chagaev is far too good for skelton, although skelton goes the distance, he is one tough mofo.

i thought i was all alone. a man with wins over virchis, valuev and ruiz deserves much respect.

 

Ridiculous! Haye needs at least 3 ugly domestic fights before he can consider fighting for the WBA title.

 

Yeah Skeleton isn't a bad fighter but he is a notch below Chagaev IMO. An A- vs a B fighter.

 

No-one's ever given Skelton a beating though. As far as imposing presence goes, I reckon he's up there with Valuev. Pity he can't box....
