Chagaev via close decision. He would play it safe, like with Valueav, keepin the distance and countering with straight lefts.

yeah chagaev just fought matt skelton and won via UD. it was just a warm up as he'd been out for a while. skelton was ranked 15th by WBA and put up a good fight.

chagaev easily by decision. i don't think i've ever seen him hurt by a punch, and he is definatley a crafty southpaw who knows how to fight inside and use the ring, and throws povetkin type combos when he gets going.

however as evident of his last few fights. his power is not championship level. heavy handed yes, but not crushing. and with sam's chin (yes, even despite the mccline knockdowns) it is hard to envision ruslan hurting peter.

while peter can throw some really fast windmill punches in spurts, he simply won't have enough chances to tag chagaev. and one punch certainly won't do it for him. and i consider peter's power on a similar level to ruslan's. maybe a touch harder puncher.

one reason i thought ruslan chagaev has been having average performances recently is possibly to do with his medical condition. if it's true that he had hepatitis, then that can **** you for a long time, especially when your talking about an athelete that needs to performance in one of the most grueling sports out there.

he looked quite tired and average in his win over old man skelton (who was flabby and 39). so maybe there is some credibility to his team's claim of a medical condition. while he might be cleared of infection now, he probably would still be suffering from the effects for while to come. that's if he ever shakes it off fully.

He has fought once since winning the belt - hiding under a rock? nah.

They both stink. Chagaev stinks less and would win a decision.

Honestly I think Chagaev and Ibragimov present the biggest problems for Sam. Sam's great weakness is his experience and that's one area against crafty southpaws that you don't want to be lacking.

He may overpower Chagaev but chances are it'd be rough. The jab would have some difficulty as would the right which is typical against southpaws.

I'd go with Chagaev by SD or possibly MD. A tough fight to call as I think Sam would be persistent enough to jab away at Chagaev the whole way without too much worry.

Bad stylisitic matchup for Peter. An accurate, cagey southpaw has to be his worst nightmare

    Chagaev decision

Peter sucks ass. His best win is against James Toney and he has ZERO knockouts against anyone with a pulse.
