There was a funny scene in Chagaev's post fight interview.

TV-Reporter: "Ruslan, after tonight's performance, do you think you are ready for WBA champ David Haye?"
(loud laughter in the 500 odd audience)
Chagaev (Borat style Russian accent): "Yes yes, just you laugh... " (5 second pause) "I ready for Chaye. I will beat. Thank you."

 

Normally he´s with Schaburow, but today he was with Zakarjan, I think. Maybe some were confused by that.

Schaburow is in Japan right now to prepare Tajbert for his fight there.

I thought the Ali comperison was just some cheezy thing, but this guy is a ww Ali clone

That is funny. Chagaev has no one but himself to blame for being out of shape.

 

Walker made a good Job, btw. He gave a really good beating to Chagaev.

Chag should hang em up. Why does he want more health problems. Man has nothing to be ashamed up- amatuer susperstar and a WBA title in the pros. Good show, man, now figure out what you are doing with the rest of your life.

footnote here- we can fully expect a Haye 180. In fact, now, he will proabably be calling Ruslan out.

I think it would be a bigger travesty if Chagaev were to beat Haye by UD. Which is quite possible because he is a very accomplished boxer. I'd rather have a punk like Haye hold on to the wba title. Rather than someone who can't punch for ****, and can only win fights on the scorecards...
