per Gabe Montoya & Steve Kim.

    :think

Thoughts? Good fit? Waste of both their time?

Not the type of guy I'd expect Freddy to take on. I've never been overly impressed by him. But ... what the hell do i know?

I guess i could see it working to some degree as Roach should be able to maximize his offense, which is all he really has anyway .....atm at least.

True, but neither was JCC Jr. really - and that worked out well.

Without the improvements under Roach, Chavez could easily have fought on even terms with Duddy (maybe even to a draw) and lost outright to Zbik.

On the other hand, Roach has put a lot of work into some real duds. (see Lateef Kayode, hanging on to his zero by a thread and looking like **** in his last few performances)

Providnikov is very solid and has immense heart. I'd love to see Roach harness his tenacity and make him a contender. He's always exciting, and one if the FNF regulars I have to watch whenever on.

Eh, Provodnikov could use the technical expertise, but I don't see this being a huge pairing. I'd be more excited if it were Robert Garcia but the man only has so much time.

This is a good fit imo. I don't know why Fred took him on though

    How can it hurt???

I am still puzzled why FNF shows so many of his fights. He is not some **** boring, Cuban or American hypejob...

While Freddie is obviously an ATG trainer and Ruslan is a good fighter, I do think it is overall a waste of time. Roach should only be working with guys amongst the elite or upcoming elite of divisions. Titlist level at least and unfortunately I don't believe Provodnikov is that.

I think Roach can help Provodnikov a lot, tough as nails, if Roach can refine him we could see a really good fighter.

Roach has made some miracles happen ( Chavez Jr, A mir con ), It's a pretty good fighter to have in his stable. Hopefully Provodnikov gets some improvements on his boxing and learns to be more tactical. Since Martirosyan is in Roaches hands maybe they'll spare. I'd look like a freakshow. No but Roach can hopefully make some improvements on Provodnikov and help him reach his full potential in the rest of his career.

If Freddy actually trained 1/3 of the guys he supposedly did he wouldn’t sleep.

He'll probably spend as much time with Roach as me.

In other words he will find a nice corner in the wildcard gym and train by himself.

No doubt Roach will make some improvements. I've just never been all that impressed with Provodnikov. But he's still young and with his rough and tumble style, he'll most likely be involved in some fun fights. I'm willing to watch, that's for sure.
