I don't understand how the provohype has started, I mean, he has not beat 1 world class fighter, so how is he all of the sudden a topcontender in the divisions that he fights?

Everytime he took a step upside the ladder(Herrera, Bradley) he got exposed. His only big win is against Alvarado, who is a hype job too, both just built by Top Rank because they ain't got no fighters left at Welterweight.

If Ruslan ever dares to fight a world class fighter, he will get exposed again.

He gave Herrera a sickening beating and got robbed.

Herrera exposed the 140 lineal champion and lost by a fanny hair.

Provo is no hypejob. Marquez wanted no part of him for a reason. He has that prime Foreman stalking ability. You just can't shake him off.
You need to bring in the best like Bradely to beat him and even he almost got stopped.

And then he proceeded to rob an old Corley himself. Clearly the real deal.

Why is he hyped? - Because Bradley #3 at WW went full ****** and almost got himself knocked out against him.

Provo is nothing special but he can manage the lower end guys like Rios, Alvarado etc.

I don't think anyone overrates him....a solid fighter with good power but lack of defence.

    He is at Peterson level...

Provo would shatter Petterson, Khan and knock Broner into last week.

lol Broner would get annihilated by Provo.

Not sure Provodnikov is particularly hyped. I think most of the marketing and talk regarding him, has to do with his big punch and entertaining style. I haven't seen people putting him at the same level as the very elite. More than anything, I've seen him compared to fighters like Gatti, which I think is fair.

He's one of the best at his weight and has a style that many fans love to watch.

Win or lose he's a tough out for anyone. Even the guys that beat him got their ass kicked in the process, not really getting exposed.

I agree with the topic creator and believe that he is part of T-RANK's build up of lesser fighters. I think Provod is good. But he is not the level of the elites/champions of that division.

naw man that's terrible. Thurman is behind Marquez, Porter, Maidana and Bradley for the welterweight rankings
