You are quite easily one of the biggest idiots/trolls on this forum. I only hope you are trolling (just like in the froch thread) because surely someone can't be that much of an idiot. Either way, I feel sorry for your family.

folks are missing the point of this post: i'm a Provo. fan, but it's because he puts up a great fight despite not so great boxing nor defensive skills.

nah nobody is overrating provodnikov. porter and thurman, now those are two guys who are being wayy overrated. people saying porter would give mayweather trouble and that thurman would KO bradley, marquez and pacquiao despite having never fought anyone worth a damn.

Based on what the average poster seems to think, I find Provodnikov slightly overrated. However, what can you say, he has looked great in his last two big fights against good/great competition.

I think he is overrated in a H2H sense by many who think he would beat or would have a great chance to beat the top guys at welterweight.

Using the Transnational Boxing Rankings Top 10 at WW and JWW:

I would confidently pick the top 7 at WW over Provodnikov. However, I would likely make the fights 50/50 or close against 8-10 (Alexander, Brook, Khan).

At JWW, I'd pick D. Garcia, Matthysse and M. Herrera over him. I wouldn't make Provodnikov too big of a favorite as many likely would over Vargas, and even Khabib or Postol. Stylistically speaking, I think he handles and likely destroys Peterson, Rios, Alvarado again obviously, and Judah.

I don't know. It seems like nobody else remembers the Herrera or the Corley fights and how he really is not too much different of a fighter. He did great against a great fighter in Bradley, but he narrowly lost while Bradley fought the absolute ideal fight for Provodnikov's favor... I don't dislike him. He is all action. I hope he gets some big fights after this Algeri relative tune up/fresher.

    ------

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bradley beat Marquez at WW. Marquez was fresh off the Pac KO and the #2 ranked WW behind only Mayweather... Your statement is ridiculous.

Bradley holds a good clear competitive win over Abregu, a solid WW. Easily top 50 WW and that isn't debatable.

    Provodnikov fight was at WW.

Best win was good over top 10 ranked long underrated Zaveck, with good supporting wins, all stoppages, over Soto Karass, Diaz, and Chaves. His W over Quintana wouldn't factor in as it was at JMW

He is ranked, no doubt. But...

...as bball says, he is behind a few guys.

    1. Mayweather
    2. Pacquiao
    3. Bradley
    4. Marquez
    5. Maidana
    6. Porter
    7. Thurman

I would like to watch Ruslan v.s. Broner at 140. Ruslan will send Broner to the floor like Maidana did.

Provodnikov is not a hype job in any sense

He has been exposed, not as a fraud but I think Herrera, Bradley, and Alvarado showed us a blue print on how to beat the guy

The problem is the execution. Provodnikov has his limitations and his weaknesses but he more than makes up for them with the dangers he brings to his opponents

Provdnikov has 2 losses, I thought he won vs Herrera and Atlas scored for Provodnikov (havent watched it all the way thru since it happened) and lost by a point to Bradley in a fight that he almost won in the 12th round and was very close to knocking Bradley down in rounds 1 and 2

Provodnikov is very close to undefeated, he lost but was not really "beaten" some guys protect the 0. Some lose their 0 and take a bad beating or get exposed badly. Provodnikov has 2 losses but he gained a lot from the one with Bradley, if anything its like Maidana tangling with Floyd they lost but they came out only more confident in their abilities to operate at the top

I cant name a single guy at 140 or 147 well maybe Floyd and Pacquiao who are interested in a fight with a highly confident and well prepared Provodnikov. He is nightmare for anyone I reckon.

Look how badly he had Bradley and Alvarado hurt in the first round

He is not being overated. We all know the level he is at

He would brutally KO Pac just like Marquez did. Fact

Floyd would toy with him. Fact

    That is his level

Provodnikov should be undefeated. He beat Herrera comfortably in my opinion in what was an awsome fight that should be watched. I feel he beat bradley. I mean...unscored knockdowns aside, you take a knee in final seconds of twelfth...you just waved the white flag. People saying Corley was robbed are stupid. The controversy in that fight was how wide the judges scored it. The right guy won just lopsided scores. Let's not forget that Herrera and Corley were both before freddie roach. Not sure how anyone is calling him overrated. One guy said ruslan was overrated n thurman would beat his ass!?!? Thurman is the most overrated fukker in the sport. Not that I dislike thurman, but come on. I think prov is rated right about where he should be. A brutal relentless guy willing to fight anyone, begging for big fights, goes for broke with stamina for days...really not seeing what's not to like.

I'd pick him against Garcia, Mathysee, Rios, Maidana, Alexander, Peterson, Broner.

The first 4 guys rely too much on their power and although Garcia has decent skills, I think its Alvarado level skills + a devastating left hook. As we saw in the Alvarado fight, those skills aren't enough. Maidana hits the canvas too often, if Ortiz was able to drop him 3 times... The last 3 just arent tough enough to survive 12 rounds with Ruslan. We saw Bradley break Alexander down, Peterson went life and death with Khan whilst on PEDs and Broner would cry.

Khan, Guerrero would be 50/50 because of their height and boxing skills, depends if he can break them down or in Khan's case, catch him once.

Port/Thurman is also 50/50, not sure Porter can get so wild with Ruslan, thats dangerous, Thurman would have to run all night because as good as his power is, don't think he's stopping Ruslan.

FMJ/Bradley/Pac/JMM - All have the elite skills to box him off for 12 rounds and tough enough to survive a few scares.
