How can Lampley ***** about a decision when the other guy climbed off the deck to put on a boxing clinic with one eye.

 

Yep, he ****ed his eye up and looked fantastic for one round. Provodnikov was neutralized for most of the fight after that. It's a shame you missed it.

They easily could have stopped that any time because of the cut.

Algieri showed crazy heart going on to outbox Provodnikov the rest of the way after that start, in a hole on the cards with the knockdowns and with the flesh torn off his face.

I'm glad they let it go on and gave Algieri the chance to shine. That was a good display of boxing.

Algieri showed how a slick & defensive style can still be exciting. (of course it helps when you have a juggernaut like Provodnikov coming at you gobbling up counters)

I hope to god GGG doesn't get exposed by a slick fighter like this. I would never watch boxing again.

 

I don`t think he should be though. he`s an enteraining boxer. IF Paulie can`t make living off wearing tassels and using flashy boxing so can Chris Algieri.

 

For those who say those punches shouldn't count (ignoring the fact that he continually snapped Ruslan's head back with those 'pitty-pat punches') ... does that mean Ruslan is winning a round when he follows the guy around, gets hit by those non-powerful punches and doesn't land significant punches of his own?

Let's say Algieri lands 40 such punches in a round and Ruslan lands 10, none of which appear to do significant damage ... do you just say the other guy's output doesn't matter, the fact that he's dictating the terms of the fight doesn't matter, etc., and give Provo the round?

I'm seriously curious about that line of thinking.

Like when Paulie Malinaggi would throw 6-punch combos at Broner and Broner would counter with shaking his head like 'that didn't hurt,' does the head-shake win the exchange?

 

It was entertaining no matter the outcome, I love boxing and enjoy different styles and match-ups, people love the brawler with no defense it's exciting I get it but that's not the only style I like watching...

It just a matter of opinion man, why ppl want wars over a flucking boxing match
