Roman Martinez vs. Miguel Beltran. First, OMG what a fight! Second, in a fight like this, I don't think you can score solely on points, you just have to go with your gut, and I think Martinez did deserve the win. HOWEVER, Beltran would have won (which I'd also have no problem with) had it not been for Mora's point deduction in round 11. Am I the only one that thought that deduction was complete bull****? It wasn't really a rabbit punch, it was just a "friendly" tap thrown during a clinch. Kind of to say "hello" - and no warning first. Russell Mora, that bastion of fairness & integrity, obviously was looking for ways to help Martinez. (maybe because of all the heavy Mexican betting, raising the odds in favor of Beltran?) Am I wrong about this?
So, does anyone think that those "love taps" were deserving of a penalty? I'm truly curious what you guys think.
