    Mares has responded:

    http://m.ringtv.craveonline.com/blog/178991-lems-latest-mares-says-russell-hasnt-fought-anybody

"[Laughs] It's funny he says that, coming from a guy who hasn't fought any A-level fighters to this date. To say that I would be an easy fight, he must really, really believe in himself, which obviously, he does. But I don't take it personally," said Mares.

"I don't take it as an insult. He feels that way and that's on him. But again, I feel that he hasn't fought any A-level fighters and I'm not labeling myself A-level fighter. But I've fought A-level fighters, and I think that I'm up there. Again, Gary Russell really hasn't fought anybody."

"Again, I would love to fight him if he's calling me out. For him to be saying that I will be an easy fight, I mean, that's big. If that's the way that he feels, then, whatever, you know? We'll find out whenever we fight."

The fight haven't been made but if it does get made I would lose any sleep wondering if Gary would fold because he is not made of folding material. He is a winner he fights and carries himself that way. Mikey Garcia is the same fighter now as he was before he got the title. He haven't changed his fight game one bit. All he needed was a shot at the belt. Mares had to prove himself because he didn't display the raw talent that Mikey showed. However he proved to be a talented and versatile fighter. Gary is like Mikey, all he needs is a shot. The man has domination written all over him and that's what a lot of people are afraid of.

I could see it if it wasn't for his Faberge egg fists.

I do think Russel leave his head up there uncovered to be hit, but he would be in and out on Mares like lightning. Those hands though will fail him in the clutch against elite level chins with his hard hitting style though. When they are shattering against bums where you aren't going all out, I can't see them holding up in wars.

I see him ruling the first 1-3 rounds until his hands are hurt then being dominated or stopped late. I say that reluctantly as I think he is the better fightrt, but those fists and Mares' style won't make for a good night.

Gary Russell would work this dude. Better wear a steel cup though, although Russell so short theyll count as head shots

Just like Agbeko in the rematch, Moreno and De Leon right? :yep

Diffrence here is, those dudes were actually proven at the elite level, GRJr hasn't proven ****.

Mares whoops that kid, just how he's been doing with all the top competition he's faced. :deal

When Russell fights anyone thats at least B Level, let me know.

everything you just said, was also said about Rigondeaux in the build up for the Donaire fight :deal

and just like Rigo, we all can see the elite level talent in Russell, who also has a great ameteur background :deal

Mares won't know what hit him :deal

Could care less how proven they are. Agbeko, moreno and de leon are nothing special. And Agbeko was robbed of a victory

Russell is just more talented period.

Rigondeux actually fought some ranked contenders before fighting Donaire. He even picked up a world title. I don't even think Russell is fighting guys in the top 50.

Mares himself has a great ameteur background as well, and more importantly has dealt with more diffrent styles at the elite level, and has shown to make adjustments to their styles.

Rigo was facing top ranked contenders before Donaire, while GRjs keeps feasting on D level bums. :rofl

    Mares will wreck this kid.

 If those guys are nothing special, then i guess Russell aint **** since those guys mentioned have had success at the elite level, while Russell has been showing his talent against tomatoe cans.

Lets see how he does against B level fighters at least, then we can talk about his talent.

you can talk about how Agbeko was robbed of a victory all you want, it still doesnt change the FACT that got schooled in the rematch. :hi:

Compared to the monsters Gary Russell jr has been whooping on. :rofl:rofl:rofl

Hey Iron, you remember when these same dipshits were calling Moreno the "Panamanian Whitaker"?

and now after Mares is done with him, he was never anything special. :rofl
