Kizer sounds like an idiot in that article.

First he says we shouldnt be angered and calling for the termination of Mora but that we should be asking ourselves what can we do to minimize this again....UHHHHHHHHH, the termination of incompetent referees thats how you minimize horrible referee jobs.

In this interview Kizer sounds so worried about Mora's future? WTF? Who gives a **** about that ****er. He should never be able to referee another big fight EVER AGAIN!

Boxers need a lot of focus and concentration to be good.

Mares took away all of Agbeko's focus in the fight and hurt him physically several times in the groin. so mentally and physically the fight was ****ed for Agbeko..

So how the #ยค%& can you conclude that Mares 'fought the better fight and should have won?????

You cannot just take away the low blows and pretend they did not affect the rest of the fight!!?!?!

    WTF?

You must kidding... Corrupt refs isn't the kind of drama people like. Golden Boy fixed the fight so they can make more money from him in the future. Nothing they do is for the benefit of the fans. Yeah, I think your were kidding though :p

I sent Russell Mora an e-mail (which I got off this site) deriding him for doing such a bad job. What I didn't expect was for him to reply to that e-mail.

In his reply he seemed genuinely remorseful and admitted that he had done a bad job. I have to say, that really makes it hard for me to hate on the guy...

Everyone makes mistakes; he did a great disservice to Agbeko, but the nature of being a referee is that when you make mistakes you always commit an injustice against another. I don't know, I feel like having a little remorse wouldn't be a bad thing.

That being said, I understand being upset by that match as it is very upsetting to watch. I don't want to see Mora officiating any big matches any time soon, but I do believe that he should be able to put some work in on smaller matches, and after a certain amount of success, and be able to move back into the world of refereeing big fights...

Would it be wrong of me to ask you to put his response here? As well as your initial email? In fact, if you could make a seperate thread, that'll be even better.

I don't know if it deserves its own topic, but I will post the e-mails here.

    Subject: On your performance...

I don't usually like to be so cynical when it comes to boxing; I believe that boxing scoring can be ambiguous and I also believe that sometimes a ref doesn't have the same vantage point as the many cameras the boxing fan sees the fight from. So I can understand some discrepancies. However, I just don't see how it is possible that you could have missed all those low blows. I also think you were in a perfect position to see that low blow that dropped Agbeko. Fighters deserve clean fights, you took that away from Agbeko.

If you weren't flat out bribed than you did a very bad job. Either way you should feel intense shame. I am not saying you shouldn't be able to move on from this incident, but I do hope that a feeling of remorse for the atrocity you committed helps to shape you into a much better referee.

    Mr *******,

You are absolutely correct I missed the the obvious low blow in the 11th and a few others earlier. My focus in this fast paced fight got behind to say the least. I owe it to the boxers to do my very best at all times and again I completely agree I must do a LOT better.
Please know that Im dedicated to our sport and I will commit to work harder.

    Respectfully,
    Russell Mora

    This is more lies.
The rules call for a point deduction after is it 3 warnings.
If continued, another dedcution, then a DQ.
    It's the rules.

Fair play to him. But I'm still remain in the belief that he was bribed, and my sympathy for him hasn't increased by much.
