GRJ really impressed me tonight...he went up against a guy who was clearly bigger and stronger than him, a guy that that was more experienced and more technical. still russell was able to take loma's best and shut loma down for long stretches in the fight. russell showed a good chin, stamina and ability to box on even terms with loma. he even had the bigger man running away from him on many occaisios. it was russell who made the fight and who pressed the actin thnroughout. only problem was russell tired down the stretch when it looked like was fittin to finish strong.

wiith better coaching and a few tune ups against live oppostion, russell will be back in the mix. if he can gain some more experience, technical skills and add a few lbs of muscle naturally, he wll beat loma in the rematch.

His power and chin truly impressed me tonight.

But he mentally is so weak he makes Andre Dirrell look like Rocky Marciano.

He was throwing punches right into the air during the fight. And those shoeshine body punches were acts of mental desperation.

He needs to get himself a sports psychologists, if he improves his mind he will be a true force. Also i personally think he should move down to 122 imo, he's too small for feather.

Oh and loma is too much for him due to skills and size.

He fought until the very end, took some great shots...but his boxing was god awful. 10%? With his hand speed that is terrible. That is like Brandon Rios vs Pacquiao bad. I do hope his team learns and stop feeding him terrible opponents. I think he will still get some good wins and he MUST have learned from this fight.

    We'll see.

    He impressed you?

He landed 10% of his punches.

    He looked awful.

he also landed some great shots that were on the button...he showed better than average chin and heart. this was not a walk-over like some are making it out to be...it was a close, competitiive fight.

part of the problem is the compubox...that 10% nonsense doesn't match what i saw, and it clearly doesn't match what the judges saw. russell faded in the 11th and 12th. if he wins those rounds, the fight is a split draw in russell's favor.

the other problem is the announcers, especially loudmouths like malignaggi who are not telling viewers what's really happening in the fight. i understand it's about promoting their own fighter...but then they act like the judges are the ones who are crazy for not scoring every round for loma.

i looked up compubox... those stats are not what you think they are. it's just some guy hitting a button when he feels a punch has landed. i counted punches myself and found the 10% to be grossly incorrect, and so did the official judges.

Lisa Giampa needs to be banned from boxing. I had it 117-111 for Lomachenko, it was not even close..............Lomachenko could have stopped Russell several times, but chose to move and box. Russell will go back to fighting his usual winos from the alley............I am so glad that Laurence Cole was not there, he and Giampa would make a good team............

Erm...... GRJ was the house fighter. You DO realize that Lomachenko is an HBO/TR fighter , and GRJ was the Haymon/GBP/SHO fighter right? Or apparently not.

Russell might get better but he's never beating Loma. They're both 26 and
VL showed so much more depth.

lol....look at all this celebration over decision like this. dude, it's not like GRJ got dropped or hurt at any point in the fight. except for the showtime commentary, it was far from a convincing win. loma was clearly the bigger stronger guy and was still running away and ineffective for rounds at a time. loma is a better technical guy, but it was really the size and weight differential that pulled it out for him in the championship rounds.

Russell could not even win one gold medal, much less two...............Lomachenko easily out classed Russell and that's a fact............
